Leavin' on a jet plane.... What are your feelings regarding shipping a puppy from the breeder? Have you had a successful or unsuccessful experience in the past? What should a potential owner consider before making this decision? |

Good Question!!!!!!! I would really make sure that you can physically speak to the breeder and find out how you feel about their personality is ( as much as you can over a phone conversation) and if they have a website---make sure there is a picture of the parents on there..... when i worked as a vet tech we had 3 clients that had their dogs shipped to them from a different state and the puppies were so sick and didn't make it...so just be aware...... but then again, people have great expeirence in doing so---our friends had all 4 of their dogs shipped to them, and they are all healthy and wonderful! Good Luck..... :D |
I agree with Dara though I know some do not. We had Sophie flown to us on Pet Air from Mo.Pet Air specializes in shipping show dogs and puppies around the world and when our vet saw her he said "you've got a really good one here". She is now 10 months old and has never been sick. She is very healthy and strong. I would be careful choosing the airline and the breeder. I spoke directly to the breeder and visited their web site, Yorkies of Walnut Hills. We keep in contact with our breeder and update her often with pictures. You can see all their previous puppies and their parents on their site. Their puppies come with a health guarantee. We had a very positive experience. Jackie & my :littleangSophie :aimeeyork |
Three of mine were flown to me from Arizona by the breeder. They flew inside the cabin with a lady , inside their carrier, all did fine. |
Boy, I'm voicing opinions on places I generally skip. I am really into housework "avoidance" today! I usually don't comment on this type question because it's simply my opinion but it's based on my breeder whom I trust explictly. She states on her website that she would never ship a puppy but arrangements might be possible for delivery. I'm pretty sure by that she means that she would accompany the puppy and do a direct delivery probably for a couple of reasons. She wants to lessen the puppy's stress AND she would want to meet you to check you out. I love that she is so particular and careful about who gets her puppies! I can still remember the anticipation of wondering if we would be "worthy" of raising one of her puppies... |
