Suggestions to stop Cat Poop Dragger???? Sophie has gotten into the bad habit of dragging the cat poop from the litter box and placing it directly in the center of the area rug!!!! I don't think she's eating any because it looks like whole pieces I'm finding, but would really like to stop this behavior!!!! Any suggestions??? Has anyone else had this problem? I tried searching for it but came up empty!!! |
i wish i could help. i have two that like to eat the poop as well as play with it. i finally had to put a baby gate around the litter boxes. luckily the cats don't mind jumping in to get to their litter boxes! |
We did the same thing. Gordon likes to eat anything he can get his paws on. Cat poop is no exception. So, along with the cat food, we keep the litterbox behind a baby gate. Our fat cat is too big to actually jump over, but we don't mind letting her in and out. Inconvenient? Yeah, but it keeps us on our toes I guess (And keeps Gordon from having poo poo breath). |
Fiona was doing the same thing----i yelled at her---and she hasn't done it anymore....good luck though! |
My mother-in-law had the same problem with her dog and the problem was solved when we got her the clever cat litterbox. It's a litterbox with a lid and it stands 14 1/2 inches tall. Cats jump on top and enter through the hole on the lid. |
Thanks for the suggestions! Our home is "totally open", so a gate of some kind is almost impossible! We've been discouraging her when we see her by the litter box, and she shies away from it. When we aren't home is the problem! Maybe I'll have to get a special litter box!!!! Disgusting, especially when you think about how much she likes giving us all kisses!!!! Ewwww!!!!:( |
