my yorkipoo i just recently got a yorkipoo. the mother is a yorkie that weighs 4.5lbs, and the dad is a poodle that weighs just over 3lbs. my puppy, finn is his name, weighs just under 2lbs at 6 weeks. is he going to be a lot bigger than his parents? |
I would think so. Snoodles weighed 1#9oz at twelve weeks when I got her. She is a year and a month old now and weighs 3#. They say to double the weight at 16 weeks and add 1/2 pound and that is what they should weigh full grown. But your pup whouldn't get too big. Pat |
Welcome mcshambo. I bet your Yorkipoo is adorable. If you'd like, post pictures of him, all of us here go nuts over pictures. :p Congrats on your newly adopted little Finn. :D |
My Yorkipoo is five pounds as an adult. His father, half Yorkie and half poodle, is about four and half pounds and his mother, who is a Yorkie, is about six and a half. He was about a pound and a half when I brought him home at 8 weeks. He grew very fast in the next few months, and as I remember was around four pounds at 4-5 months. During that time I also wondered if he was going to be bigger than his parents--maybe more the size of his 8-pound grandfather. But his rate of growth then leveled off, and he maxed out at five pounds at about a year. For what it's worth-- |
My yorkiepoo Bradley is 14 pounds!! We thought he would be no more then 5-7 pounds. His mom (yorkie) was 5 pounds and his dad (yorkiepoo) was around 5-7 pounds. So we were way off LOL. Does Finn look more like a yorkie or a poodle? |
