House on Market with 4 Yorkies I was wondering if anyone here has had their house on the market! Well our's was for a year! And of course I have four yorkies and you are suppose to have your house spotless just in case someone wants to show it. And God forbid you have animals! Need I say more? After a month of having the house on the market my babies got really smart - They knew when the Febreeze came out and I started spraying they would get all excited, first they would watch me pick up all the toys put them in the basket and shove them under the couch. Then it would be the dog beds being shoved under beds, couch, and hidden in the garage. While I would be doing this they would be looking at me like I was crazy (and I had to admit I was). Then they would run in the laundry room and jump in the laundry basket while I carried them to the car and off we would go. Since I have a small 2 seater sports car it was the only way I could fit all four. You should have seen the looks from people when I would pull up to a traffic light. All the smiles, pointing, etc.. Well, after a year of this, we finally moved and when the people who bought our house came for the last look, they were so shocked that we had pets especially 4! Now that we moved I think they miss the laundry basket rides, because when they see the hamper, all 4 jump in and look at me like OK let's go! |
Loved the story. I'm a Realtor. It sounds like you had the routine down. It's so hard for me as a loving yorkie Mom to be the bearer of bad tidings when I have to tell homeowners...buyers don't want to see signs of dogs. I think we are luckier than those with some big old hounds with some nasty doggie odors. Actually, it's cats that seem to be a bigger turnoff to buyers. It our state, owners must dislose if there are pets living or have lived in the house. It's about those who are allergy sufferers. Congrats on your sale! Best wishes in your new home. |
What a cute story. Maybe you should put them in the basket and take them for a ride, just for old times sake, :aimeeyork |

LOL. I use a laundry basket too as a seat. I also have a two seater (Convertible) sports car. I love using a laundry basket. Hubby made it very safe. He used a belt of some sort to tighten it around the seat and we have a big pillow inside and then harnesses that come off to latch them in. I think it works better then an actual car seat and it was cheap to make AND, I can fit the three of them in there. They love it. I have a pic. but it's too big to attatch. Elaine |
