two yorkie pups fighting! My two new yorkie puppies are constantly playing together and fighting! Sometimes the fighting seems really bad. I hear yelping sometimes. Is this normal. Are they hurting each other. What do I do. Most of the time they get along and play well together. They even snuggle together when they sleep. One girl and boy. What do I do. |
You don't mention their age but if these are young pups it is very normal...they will make a lot of noise and will settle their own arguments. Odds are the girl will be the winner... |
Yes, sorry, the girl is 9 weeks and the boy is 12 weeks. I've only had them a couple of days. They are aunt and nephew. Most of the time the girl (Bella) is the aggressor and seems to get the best of the boy (Tucker). There are times when Tucker gives her a run for the money. I just worry they may be hurting each other. It gets pretty scary. They play well most of the time. Will this ever stop. When they are full grown do I have to seperate them when I leave them alone? |

I doubt they are truly "fighting." Puppies can get pretty rowdy and make some pretty crazy noises. There's gonna be yelping occasinally, especially if they are that young, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. They're teaching each other what is right and wrong & what's acceptable. You will know if they are really truly fighting. If you feel they're getting too rough, just separate them for a bit and let them cool down. You can see some pups in action here: |

thanks for the advice. I love the video of the puppies playing. I thing I will get them something like that for christmas. Or maybe today! They are sooo spoiled. Potty training is going well for Bella. Tucker is proving to be more of a challange. I love them anyway! |

I got Maggie last November when Buster was 11 months old. They fight and tussle, sometime growling and making a lot of noise. She is definitely the dominate one. I usually let them work it out and if I feel they are getting too rough I will separate them and suggest a treat. I am hoping when Maggie gets a bit older she will mellow but I don't see that happening. She is one rough gal. But sooo much fun, very playful not nearly as serious as Buster. |
Where did you get the tunnel and playpen? I know my babies would love it! |
