Wouldn't it be amazing if WE could sponsor a billboard?!?! I'm not sure how this could be done but imagine the impact that we could have! |
I have already spoke with non-profit rescue organization, but we never orginize it. I was reminding her many times..... especially when petstore protest didn't work out. So I would like to do it myself, but...I am too busy, and there are some complications. For instance, I would like to advertise my web there, because I would like to give more information, including practical advices that official websites do not have. And I still have to work on web.... I just do not have time to start. And it IS good to have non-profit registration, because of special discount to non-profit. At least, some rescues on East Cost got free place..... |
They picket almost every weekend at the new Petland that opened up near us. I always wave and honk! |
I think it's very frustrating also. Over the summer my husband and I was at petsmart and we had our babies with us and a lady came up to us with her young daughter and her new yorkie puppy and was commenting on how cute our yorkies were. And she proceded to ask us about how we potty train ours cause she was having such a rough time with hers,so we talked with her on how to potty train and such and then she said well we just got her at petland:eek:well both our smiles turned to frowns and my husband and I both looked at each other and I reckon she seen our reaction and said oh I know, Oh I know, don't need a lecture and proceded to walk off. She claims she knows it was wrong but still went ahead and bought the puppy anyways. What are people thinking!!!:thumbdown |

I went to the mall today with my sister, and we went into the Pet store and they had about 4 scruffy looking puppies of which I could not tell what type of mix they were. I asked him where he got the puppies and he said local breeders and breeders in Wisconsin. I said they don't come from puppy mills? He of course said No. Well it turned out Orphans of The Storm another huge shelter by me was having an adoptathon at Macy's Dept store and they were right next to this Pet store. No one as in the pet store but a lot of people were looking at the kittens and dogs up for adoption. I was talking to the head of the shelter and told her of the peaceful protest the shelter I volunteer at was having and they are going to see about joining it. Which is great the shelter has much more funding than ours. Then she introduced me to the Manager of Macy's and he said they had tried pressuring the mall to not allow the store to open to no avail. It was so good to see Macy's involved in this adoptathon!! Also my sister fell in love with a poodle mix that had been left abandoned in an apartment in Chicago with a larger dog. The poodle was just found and is so skinny and matted. My sister is trying to talk her husband into letting her get it. |

I am going to shout this from the rooftops! "UNTIL WE CHANGE THE LAWS THIS WILL CONTINUE" AS IT IS NOT NOT ILLEGAL! Majority of people in this country refuse to understand what is going on in these situations and they refuse to understand what it is costing the taxpayers and they refuse to understand the cruel and inhumane treatment that continues to go on. |
