Help Please I have a 14 week old Yorkie. Shes adorable my kids and I are very happy. I'm just a little worried she doesn't go potty very much. This morning she had bright red blood in her poo. I saved for a long time to get her so I can't really afford to take her to the vet this week. Shes up to date on shots and has been wormed. I'm hoping its a common thing since her bum hole is so little lol. |
I would see if the vet will take payments. I would not wait to take her in she could be in pain or need medicine right away. |
Bright red blood in stools is serious. With her being so young, chances are she has a parasite. Both Coccidia and Giardia can cause them to get very sick very fast and they can die from dehydration as well. Please take her in to the vet right away. A visit, stool sample and related meds should be less than $100. Ask your vet if they will take a payment plan, but she needs to be seen. |
In my area we have several local humane societies with vets on staff that do low-cost exams for pets. It is not very well known that they do this, because people typically think of them only as a rescue/adoption facility. Maybe you could check into this resource? |
Her poop was a little mucusy too. She was wormed on Saturday I'm asumming this had something to do with it. I'll make an appt today hopefully they can just hold my check til Friday:) |
with coccidia they have mucus poop with blood in it |
I am so glad you are going to check it out. |
Glad to hear that you are getting it checked out!! I too looked into a vet that had a payment plan, wawy back when I had my mini schnauzer. Then when I got Rocky I just went back to the same vet. I hope that your baby is ok!! |
I'm glad your having it looked into. Let us know what the vet says. |
in my area we have several vets that will take half the payments or that will hold a persaonal check up to two weeks i hope everything is okay |
Oh my goodness, I pray you find a wonderful vet that will be compassionate to your situation... We will all be praying for your little one, please be sure to keep us informed. |
