Need Help Breeding Time Please Help With Answers My female has come into season and I would like to breed her I have a stud but I need to know what days. She has 1 day in and today is the 2nd day spotting. |
Perhaps you should sit it out this heat and get to studying for the next one if thats what you intend to do. First off how big is your girl and the male? How old are they? |
I do not want to sit it out, she is 2 and he is 3 and she is 5 pounds he is 3 pounds and a proven stud. I just thought there were people who could tell me what days they usually breed on, not people that are so rude to say study. I know and have been told the 8th day of spotting but I wondered if anyone here thought different females do earlier or later. Geez I find this community with some very rude people and it is to be helpful and that for others. I have not found it at all that way. |
she was not being rude, she just gave you an answer you didn't want to hear. if you do not know what days you should be breeding her then you haven't done much research on breeding and you should probably wait or not do it at all. this site is very helpful. there are lots of threads posted by first time breeders asking questions. many of these first time breeders then went on to have major problems, a lot involving losing the puppies +/- the mother. Check out the breeder section and read up. |

I wasn't being rude at all, I just said perhaps you should sit this heat out and maybe do a bit of research if breeding is what you'd like to do. I don't know how that is rude? I don't know much about breeding yorkies but I do know it's dangerous and takes alot of research and practice. I would assume one who would like to breed would take the time to find someone to mentor them and share their knowledge with before a heat not when the female IS in heat. |

I am not a breeder, but, when the color of her discharge lightens to a pinkish-tan color (usually around 9 - 12 days after her starting her cycle) her vulva will be soft and you'll notice her flirting with your male. Your male will determine by sniffing and licking when she is ready to be bred. If you own the male you will notice a change in his behavior and his lack of appetite, he'll only have eyes for your female and will not want to do any of his normal activities, even go outside. Lots of whining and restless nights when you have a female in season. |

You will find that members here are not generally willing to offer encouragement and support to people if they get the indication that they have not adequately prepared to breed their dogs. Members here tend to put more emphasis on what is in the best interest of the dogs first--not sparing the feelings of their breeders/owners or simply giving them the answers they want to hear and the information they need in the present moment so that they can continue with their breeding efforts. (Which, IMO, is exactly how it should be-->best interest of the dogs first, not hurting feelings second.) |

Personally, I stay out of the Breeder forum as I find it disturbing that there are so many members like yourself that feel it is their RIGHT to breed and have no idea what they are doing. :thumbdown Just because you have a "proven" 3 lb stud and a 5 lb female in heat does not make you a breeder. There are far too many puppies being bred by people who are doing it either to give them away or sell them as a little side gig in this economy and have no idea what they are doing. IMO~all you needed to do was pose your question in the appropriate forum and you probably would not have received your "rude" TRUTHFUL responses. :rolleyes: |
