Pee Pee'in Under the Umbrella
 
We haven't had a lot of rain down here in S.E.Texas, but today we got a "toad stringer" lol...So I took Apple out w/my umbrella, and squatted down low to the grass w/the umbrella over both of us and told her to pee pee, and she did!!! We've been out twice, today, doing that, and I'm so proud of her...Does anyone else do this w/their baby, when it's raining?

Good for your furbaby!!!! :) I tried that too but I live in Indiana (had 2 days of rain, don't know anything about toads! LOL) but I evidently have a "Fair Weathered Pee'r". She went a couple of times when it wasn't "pouring", but other than that she wouldn't go. I decided to start training her to use the pee pads. I really want her to go outside and even just ordered the "Tell Bell" but with winter coming on I'm positive she won't go outside so I'll have to use the pads till she's trained than do the outside training. I just hope I don't confuse her. Good luck

Remy is terrified of the umbrella. Don't know why, its size, the fact that it makes a strange sound when it opens... I tried to use it one time when it was raining, and he just pulled and ran the other way.

Then our experience got a little worse, which absolutely solidified his fears of the umbrella... and anyone watching me would have been beside themselves laughing...

First it was just me, this big golf umbrella, pouring down rain, and a little dog tearing away from me as fast as he could go. THEN the wind catches the umbrella, it goes inside out - which scares Remy even more - and I just about lost control of both of them. I was soaked by the time I got back inside!

Don't know that he even peed, he was so scared

We don't even try to use an umbrella now

i did that with morgan when she was a baby and i was training her to potty outside. the only difference was i was under the umbrella and she was not LOL i wanted her to get used to the rain so she'd go potty in any weather. now i just open the door for her to run out and pee in the rain by herself.

Well, if you run a heavy fishing line from one side of a creek or stream to the other, and hang bated hooks from it a few inches apart, you can catch fish, as they swim through the stream...If it rains really hard, and the water comes up really fast, all the toads (frogs) will jump up on the line (string) and you will have a toad stringer lol....verrrrrrrrry country saying.....:D

very cool!! As my dad used to say, "you learn something new every single day" thank you for that.

I think it is so great that your baby does this. What a good girlie!!:p

The underside of the umbrella has a leash that attaches to your dog's collar/leash. The other side is a handle that you hold so all the weight is supported by you.
