Out of the Closet...Hello! I have finally got the nerve to step out and say hello to everyone :blush08: My name is Cathleen, my friends call me Cat, I have had Maltese for 19 years now, and when my 18 year old left me over year ago to go play at rainbow bridge, I was heart broken. About nine months ago, I knew one day I would want to add a new fur baby to my family, but I did not want to replace my Tea'la, but knew my Shy'la needed company. I joined yorkie talk to read up on the breed and continue my research. Also, we moved to Tulsa, OK in March, and to my horror found this was a breeding ground for puppy mills:thumbdown. So I decided I would try to rescue, found a sweet little guy but someone else was first, prayerfully he's well taken care of. So my search continued, I was set on a little boy (from research I thought he might be more attatched to me than my hubby, the girls always just worshiped the ground he walks on...lol) Searching the sites and newspaper, I stumbled across a male and female 8 1/2 week old babies. I called and ran over to check out the little male, he was so cute, but the female was so tiny and all of a sudden it scared the dickens out of me, I didn't want her to end up at a puppy mill. So I snatched her up, paid and left. She was so mellow, just a tiny little thing (didn't take into account the lady had the pups outside in the heat ). Well, she's not so mellow these days, she's 13 weeks old and a terror terrier LOL Yorkies are nothing like Maltese... rofl So anyway, I would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to yorkie talk and all it's members. Through this web site I have found the furbaby I have searched for, and I KNOW I will be needing much advise and help along the way for my little terror, oops, I mean terrier. :D I don't have my pics yet on my computer, but I will work on that this week. Take Care & God Bless you all! Cat, Shy'la and GiGi |
Congratulations on your new baby! Can't wait to see some pics of her. :) Welcome to YT! And, welcome to Tulsa! It's great to see another YT'r from my area. |

Hi and welcome to YT. Love the name GIGI, LOL that's what my grandchildren call me. GG/grandma's girl and grandma's guy. Can't wait to see pictures of your little ones. Glad you found us. |
Welcome and congratulations!! I am so glad you found that little girl!! |
Thank you all for the warm welcome, I selected the name GiGi in memory of my mother, that's what her Great Grandbabies called her...lol |
Welcome to YT, it's great to have you here. I am looking forward to hearing stories about your little ones and seeing pics of course. I see you have already discovered that the real name for the breed is "Yorkshire Terrors". (just kidding!) haha |
Actually, my dh figured out that she was a terror before I did... lol Oh, and this little stinker already worships the ground he walks on, go figure...lol Thank you for the warm welcome! |
Welcome!!! cant wait to see pictures. What is it with these DH's and our babies loving them? When I got Cooper it took a LOT of talking to the DH of how much I need a Yorkie and he finally agreed but was not too happy about such a tiny dog...well let me tell you Cooper is his "other son" Cooper loves him to pieces and he will call home on his break to talk to Cooper on the speaker phone...LOL. I am getting a new baby girl in a few weeks and have already told my DH you are not aloud to breathe, smell, or even talk to her because this one is mine..ha, ha. |
Hi Cat, I'm very happy to meet you. Sounds like your little Gigi is gonna be loads of fun. Welcome to YT |
