This is just sad.... This was in our paper JACK RUSSELL TERRIER I am looking for a very special home for my 7 1/2 yr old female Jack to retire in. She has been my best producing female in my small kennel. Now it is time for me to find her a special place where she can live out her days in comfort and relaxation. She is used to an outside kennel which is heated and air conditioned. She has her own private stall and bed. She gets daily exercise in my fenced backyard. I live in the country in the woods. She has recently been spayed and is current on all her shots. She is still very energetic and loves to run. You would never know she is almost 8. She loves attention and is very affectionate. She has been in my home for extended periods with her pups. She was on tile and did well but does not have experience with carpeting. I feel a home with one or two adults would be best. She hasn,t had much experience with small children and may get nervous if too many people are around. She would make a wonderful companion and a great watch dog for people who are home a lot. Sounds to me like she has been taken care and now her breeder is trying to find her a wonderful home where she can be treated like the little princess she is. it sounds like a very caring breeder to me unless I misread something. The breeder could have taken her to the dog pound but instead she is trying to find a good home for her. |
this is quite disturbing ,, then again hopefully she will find a loving home for the rest of her wee life, |
Sounds pretty good to me, Like the owner is doing her best to find a home for the dog. I am glad to see that someone is on the up and up instead of doing something horriable to her. I was waiting to hear something horriable. |
im reading,, breeding bitch all her day, not used to carpet or people or children, exercised in a yard even though she lives in the woods, done her deed now time to go:confused: unless i have read it wrong |
It sounds to me as if the breeder is trying to get the last little bit of $$$ out of this girl. I will give her credit for not dumping her at the pound or killing her herself but this dog was treated like livestock. :( |

 yeah,, just use her, and when your done, throw her away. figures |
I feel badly for the little thing too but I am ever so glad that the breeder is trying to find a good home for her rather than having her pts. Does it sound like she may have brought her in to the house when she had litters? |
Funny how we can all read the same thing and get such a different impression, I think this is a way above average kennel type breeder who is trying to actually find a good home for her dog. Seeing that the dog had been spayed is a good indication, also she gives lots of information on how much training will be needed to house break her. Even rescues charge a fee, and I don't get the impression she's trying to squeeze the last bit of money out of the dog, I'm more upset when a breeder offers a "free dog" in an ad. What they do, of course after they find someone suitable, is their business. You have to remember that most breeding dogs don't live with the owner as a pampered pet, and kennel conditions for these dogs vary greatly. |
Good post Nancy. You are right. I was impressed that she already had her spayed too! |
