Hi there joined today and I am trying to come to grips with your lovely website :confused:.

My name is Tina, I live in Bedfordview, Johannesburg area South Africa. We don't have a Yorkie at this stage, but planning to buy a female mid March 2010.

Our "furry family" consists of 3 GSD and 4 cats. My best friend Sheilagh (Coco & Coffee's mommy) got me thinking about getting a Yorkie. We had a fabulous cross Maltese +/- 17 years old, but she was so old and we sadly had to put her to sleep towards end of 2008 :cry:.

Good luck in your search for your new Best Friend. :) Your poor GSD's won't know what hit them. :eek::D Yorkies don't know their own size and will have your GSD's hopping and fetching for it in no time. :rolleyes::D Gotta love their bold nature. ;)

you've found a great resource...I know YT has been a blessing for me and my family when I've had questions about things and what to expect once we got MJ home...everyone is so candid-not the my yorkie is perfect and of course he's fully trained non-sense that you tend to hear...I hope you get your girl and you won't know how you lived without her...again WELCOME!!!!

Hello Christina ~ WELCOME to YT!

We, too, were privileged to share 17 years of our lives with a most "fabulous cross" Maltese/Shih-tzu/Silky. And, we also had to sadly help him on his journey toward the Rainbow Bridge a couple of months ago :cry:

So, we already have two things in common. We enjoyed a long relationship with an extraordinary Maltese mix. And.....we both love Sheilagh :)

Welcome to YT, you are very lucky to live so close to Sheilagh.. I was very lucky this summer and got to meet Sheilagh when she was in the States meeting all us yorkie lovers..What a great gal!!!

Yes, I am very blessed to have Sheilagh as a friend, got to know one another through our sons rowing while they where still at school.

I too was the proud momma to a maltese of 18 years, she was "my girl". I gotta tell you, hold on to your britches when you're new baby comes home, they are NOTHING like Maltese, which I actually was looking for as I didn't ever want to replace my Tea'la. What a joy this little stinker has been so far, although I can't say that my 10 year old Maltese Shy'la is very happy about it. Shy'la's poor little face is matted from GiGi tugging at her, poor dear...LOL
Anyway, welcome Christina and Best Wishes

Any one who has Sheilagh as a friend is blessed. I live in Ontario, and go south to Flroida in the winter. Best of both worlds I guess.. Hope you have fun and enjoy the site..

Blom, there are about 8 or so South African's on here.
I am afraid to say though, that I am the most addicted! Looks like you will be up there with me too though.:D
