Need suggestions NOW. 1 Attachment(s) Layla ahd to go to the vet today. I don't know how I didn't notice it this morning but this afternoon I noticed this huge (well relatively speaking) lump above Layla's eyes- right where their little eye brows are (well you'll see in the picture) anyways our vet thinks she has scratched her skin raw (she has alleriges- and that is a fav scratch area) and now it is inflamed. So she is on benadryl for the itching which has helped SO much- world of difference. Also she has an ointment that should help as well. ANYWAYS- i can't keep an eye on Layla all night- i will give her her last dose of Benadryl tonight before bed but I am very worried she is going to scratch- so i need your help. I need to fashion some sort of booties for Layla to wear. I was thinking of using yarn or elastic bands to keep whatever it is on- but what can i put on her feet?? Here is the picture- the red blood dots are now gone and it is less red. |
how about some baby socks? They also sell dog socks but I think that they would be hard to find last minute. I hope she feels better! |

what about if you cut the toes off an adult sock? and then somehow secure it?hmmm... I'll think of something! |
what if you cut the four corners off a pillow case and then secured it? |

As long as its not too tight. I know when my moms dog had a foot injury she used a baby sock and medical tape and that worked well too. |

Hope all goes well! |
Oh poor Layla! Hope she feels better soon! |
How about the fingers from a knitted glove? |
if your going to use the socks then please use the medical tape to secure them. no rubber bands or elastic bands. also be sure not to put the tape on too tight. honestly the best thing for her is to wear a cone. its the only way she won't be able to reach her head. during the night she might chew the socks off and then you'll be back to square one. plus whos to say if she does chew the socks off that she won't eat one since your are making them so tiny to put on her feet. just wanted to give you a warning about the socks. i have used them while working in the animal hospital however there was someone there 24/7 watching the patients. |

Bless her heart! I know u need something immediately, but have u seen these? Bo makes them & it is the neatest idea. Looks more comfy for them too. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ne-collar.html Bella is having problems underneath her eyes with eye gunk & I was thinking of getting one in case I wanted to put medication on & she wouldn't be able to bother it. Hope u feel better soon Layla! |

does she sleep with you at night? i'd give her the benadryl as late as possible and keep her close at night so you would know if she was acting up. also since you have her close you can wrap her feet. |
