Ok...i need to know the real truth!! 1 Attachment(s) I have just acquired a beautiful 9 month old 5lb. AKC male yorkie(Mojee). He is just 2 days younger than my 9 month old 12 lbs male yorkie (Oni). My Oni was nuetered and Mojee is not. He is currently marking everything and I have it under control with belly bands. He has champion blood line on both parents and possible could bred later. I have not decided on whether to bred him or not. Have to study bloodline and consider his conformation. The question is how much success has YT people had getting their male dog not to mark in the house or are we looking at belly bands from here on. I have only had him 1 1/2 weeks and was hoping he would calm down. He has alittle and I have corrected him when I see him but honestly.....what is the chance I can get him off the belly bands???????? I hoping to take some days off and concentrate on catching him and teaching him. Just want to know the odds I guess:confused: |
Sorry, I've no advice as my boys are neutered. But just wanted to say, you're boy is adorable. I'll bump this up and hopefully someone can help you. You may also try posting in the Breeder forum. :) |
Any breeders stud dogs that I know are in belly bands..it is the nature of the beast. |
Once they start marking it is extremely hard to break if you neuter later but it is possible if you do it early enough. If you are going to consider breeding him you will have to live with the belly bands forever most likely :( |
Yes bellybands will be a necessary part of life until neutering,i have 1 male that was a stud now has been neutered so no more bands for him but every once in awhile ill catch him trying to mark:eek: |
My parents decided to neuter our mini doxie when he was almost a year old, he was a different dog after he got neutured, in a better way...good luck! |
