Ahhhhh...just had to share Some of you know that my husband and I took Taffy back to the breeder for her to board while we were on vacation. (Plus, she was spayed while there at her original vet so that our breeder could oversee her recovery. I'm not the best with any medical crisis whether human or animal.) Anyway, we are planning to make the trip (about 7 hours) back to get her in just a few days but today I was really missing her as I washed a couple of her beds and found stuff she'd stashed away. So cute...her sack bed had 2 bully sticks, a stuffed puppy, and a chew toy. I had wanted to call to talk with her several times but had talked myself out of it until today. (I didn't want her to possibly get homesick when we were still days away from retrieving her. By the way, she is having a blast and is reuniting with her canine parents and a sibling plus another playmate she remembered. She's also done well in her recovery from being spayed.) When I called I asked if she was talking on a cordless phone and then asked her to put it near Taffy's ear. Our breeder said she wished she had gotten this on video... Taffy cocked her head to one side and then another and then started licking the phone...LOL Ahhhhhh...she even remembers my voice! I can't wait to see her again and I've been so proud of how well she has behaved away from us. She really does play well with others and doesn't run with scissors either...LOL |
That is the sweetest story! I know you will all be happy to be reunited. Just think, you get to cuddle her all the way back home. Yay! :D |
thats sweet |
Aww Debbie I bet your missing Taffy like crazy.....Shes really going to be excited when she sees you walk in the door. Have your camera ready girl. |
Cute story! Be sure to update us once you get her back home. She's probably had fun but will be so happy to be back home and with her Momma. :) |
And THIS is why DH & I can't take vacas together. We cannot stand to both be away from our babies! Pitiful! |
Hi, TOY, glad you are back. Hope you had a wonderful time and I can't wait to hear what Taffy does when you pick her up. Safe travels. |
aww she sounds so wonderful, i can't wait to get a snuggle sack and see what Sadie will hide away and i love that Taffy knows your voice over the phone and gave you phone kissies!! |
That is so sweet! I can't imagine how much you've been missing her. Please remember to take a camera when you go to pick her up. We need to see pics of your reunion! :) |
Touching story!! |
Oh softie me had to tear up, reading your story lol...Reminded me of the first time I took Apple to be groomed...The groomer handed her to me, and she gave me a sweet little lick on my nose, then layed her head on my shoulder, so sweetly, as if to say, "I'm so glad you came back and got me mom".... |
Great story,,, they are just so cute! |

That glorious bus tour of New England that I thought was going to be the trip of my dreams? You know, the tour that both my husband and I had planned and dreamed of for 22 years? I didn't even last for 2 hours on the 10 day trip! Turns out that vertigo and motion sickness don't do well even on a luxury bus. I'm not sure there wasn't just a bit of claustrophobia thrown in although I don't think that would cause the dizzy nausea. All I know is those first two days of travel were to be 8-10 hours of straight riding except for meal/rest stops and after less than an hour in, all I could think about was how to cause the least humiliation, embarrassment, and trouble for the other passengers! Plus, how on earth do I solve the problem? I sent my husband and my luggage on...LOL (It was quite an expensive trip and I didn't want to rain on his parade plus they would have lost so much time unloading the luggage to get to mine.) I had my meds, etc. in the carry-on so I had the bus drop me off at a Cracker Barrel! Lesson learned: even if your husband takes his cell phone, said wife should also take hers! Lesson learned: take a day trip to see if you can survive a 10 day tour if you have vertigo. (Have you guys realized pay phones are practically non-existent nowadays?) Luckily I reached the cousin who had driven my car to the bus loading before he left for the day. He got me back home...bless his heart. It took me a couple of days before the house stopped moving but I survived. I so wanted Taffy but she was a 7 hour drive away and I couldn't face 14 hours of driving/riding plus she didn't need to miss the spaying we had scheduled. It makes a funny story now but I meet that bus tonight...sheepishly, I might add. I can't wait to get my husband home and after he has a couple of days rest, we're off to get Miss Priss. That 7 hour one-way trip? I've made reservations at 2 different places! After we pick up Taffy, we're off for a "family" vacation with her. (Did I mention she gets car sick, too? Twice on the way up.) We're going to take 5 days this time for the 14 hours...LOL So guys, don't expect gushing tales about my long-awaited trip to New England. We do plan to make it again in a personal car the next time though! |
