Is there anything I can give for pain? I think Bella is in pain. I'm thinking it's her teeth. she has 3 baby k9s and 4 adult k9s now. All the other baby teeth have fallen out. She has only breakfast this mornng at 8 but hasn't touched anything since then. I noticed she'd been rather quiet today and i had heard some whinning like sounds from her, but i though it was she wanted out of her pen, since she's been doing really bad with not using her pad, anyway, I tried to praise her when she did use it and I gave her a treat. She got so excited and when i put the treat to her mouth she licked it up and then tried to chew it, but it fell out. I put it to her mouth again and the same thing happened. She was so persistant she ended up just swallowing it. What can I give her for the pain?:( |
1 Attachment(s) aww, poor thing. Gracie Ruth had issues during her teething too. She'd walk through the house with Ducky in her mouth, making the most pitiful sound. :( She was such a good eater that I didn\'t want to wet her food or change to canned food, so I cracked her kibble for weeks so that she wouldn\'t have to chew too much to eat. I\'d put a wet washcloth in the freezer and let her chew/carry that around and that seemed to give her some relief. You can call your vets office and they should be able to tell you over the phone what product and amount is safe for her. But pretty much it\'s just a \'ride it out\' type of situation. Gracie and her ever faithful friend, Ducky. Attachment 293536 |

You can give them Benadryl (I can't remember if it needs to be children's or not) - but you need to call & your vet & ask how much your pup can have, because it's not very much & they'll tell you how much you can give based on your pup's age & weight. Hope she feels better! |

Attachment 293537 The freezer cloth was more of a pacifier then an acutal pain remedy, but it did seem to help her and certainly is in my budget. :p |
Thank you all for your advice. Bella is just under 4lbs so I knew she had to eat something. So this morning I put some water in her food and mashed it up a bit. Poor thing she was starving. I just moved here so I'm on the hunt for a new vet. Thanks again to you all. :) |
