Hi YorkieTalk! From Lillie and Cara-(Lillies' Owner!) Hello All! I'm just introducing myself as I've been on here for a few days trying to familiarize myself with this whole forum thing. I love all of the advice that others give, even though at times is a bit overwhelming. :) I got my Lillie a week ago Sunday and she will be 14 weeks on Thursday. Long story short, she is my first dog, pet, ever. When I was a little girl my parents would never let me have one because I had severe allergies, I was always in and out of the hospital, etc. But now I'm 28 and the Lord has let me grow out of them and I can finally have my little fur-ball that I've wanted since I was a little girl. I decided I really need a companion around the house. My fiance is a pilot and he's gone a lot. He will also be joining the Air Force Reserve in January. He and I decided it was time to get a puppy especially since he will be off for pilot training for 3 months at a time for a whole year. This has been the best decision thus far. Lillie gives me so much to look forward to during my lunch hour at work and when I get home. She absolutely LOVES her crate (which I'm amazed at! :p) and she knows how to 'potty #1' on the piddle pad. (Still working on #2---a bit frustrating but I'm so pleased she's figured out #1, one step at a time I guess.) She does sleep ALL night long without a peep, LOVE that! I know they say that doggies don't have feelings like we humans do, and they say you have to treat them like walls, but whats the point in having a little fur-ball if you can't just love her? I have to tell you, she's a HUGE part of my life right now and entered my life at a perfect time. Even though I'll be sad once my fiance is gone, Lillie will be right here by my side all of the time. =) Hope to run into some of you soon! -Cara and Lillie |
Welcome To Yorkie Talk!!!!:) Lillie will be great company for you!!!! Glad you joined!!!:) |
Welcome Lillie and Cara! Glad you have joined us and reading and posting right along :) Yes, you are right, all living things have feelings and should be loved. My yorkies show their feelings through not only their expressions but their body language and bark too. I warn you... Yorkies are like chips... You can't have just one LOL I have 3 and an english bulldog what a combo right? LOL |
Thanks for the welcome! Yes, I'm already thinking of my next "puppy" but I want to be fair and make sure I have enough time and money for more than one. She's being so good right now laying next to me in her little bed. We just got done playing a while ago and the poor thing is just tuckered out! It's so cute! I love my Yorkie!!! THERE I said it! HA! |
