Boredom!!!! Well me and Autumn have a case of boredom. She hasnt gotten all her shots yet so I was told not to take her out. CANT WE JUST GO FOR A WALK?:confused::confused: She's not too interested in the toys I brought her, she play for awhile then gets bored. She doesnt like to play with me. I want her to get some excerise and enjoy the fresh air too. We go on alot of car rides but she's in her crate because car accidents are excessive in my area. Also driving is not good for the environment and gas prices are insane. HELP!!!! |
How many sets of shots has she gotten? Jackson had had two sets of the DHPP shots when I was taking him for walks. Some people will advise against it but my vet didn't see a problem as long as you're not taking her into Petsmarts, or dog parks, or areas heavily used by other dogs who could contain sickness. I truly believe socialization is important at that age and they should not be cooped up inside. If you're in a neighborhood, I don't think there's anything wrong with taking her for a walk along the sidewalk. If your friends have dogs that you know are healthy and up-to-date on shots, schedule play-dates, that sort of thing. As for the car... you can purchase some really nice car booster seats for small dogs so that they're protected but can still smell out the windows and get some fresh air. |

She is being socalized but unfortunately only to humans and not other dogs cause of the shot situation but i will ask my friends wth dogs if they are updated on their shots if she can come play. thanks:D |
1 Attachment(s) I took Gracie Ruth and Yogi both out shopping with me before their shots were done. I just made sure to carry them, and not to let other people touch them and to keep the outing short enough that a potty break would not be needed. This got them out of the house, got them seeing new sights and kept us from getting cabin fever. And I love our car seats. They can be up high enough to see out the window and yet are fastened securely in their seat. Just be sure to use a harness, not a collar to fasten them with. Here's a picture of Gracie saying, "Hurry up Momma and lets go shopping!" Attachment 293418 |
I know this may sound nuts but try an empty water or soda bottle the floor (w/o carpet). I found out of all the toys I got Kikyo and still get she likes things like that. She chases that bottle around like crazy. I'm actually going to get her the wind up cat mouse too. It aids in her desires to "chase". I buy her alot of cat toys and ropes. She has made her way through 3 ropes now...LOL. Matter of time before she tears them up. She has a toy monkey we got from Wal-Mart in the pet section that she carries and chews everywhere. Hope these ideas help you. |
