Anyone else's pooch make them feel bad? Whenever I have to give Bailey a bath he knows as soon as he see me get the towel, and takes off and tries to hide under a certain chair that I have:rolleyes: Also the same thing happens when he sees me getting stuff ready to brush his teeth, he will go hide! When I take him up to brush or comb him sometimes he will start to shake a little ( which makes me feel awful), and I am ultra gentle with him, and then as soon as I am finished he is okay again, so I know he isn't tramatized or anything!. Anyone else have a little one that acts like this? Bailey can't be the only one..right? |
Oh yes.. Peanut will do the same thing.. If DH is home and I am getting his things ready for the bath Peanut will run and duck/cover over at Dh like DH is going to "protect" him LOL... I will brush pnuts teeth in the bath too. Makes you feel like you are doing something HORRIBLE lol. But everytime we are done and he gets his treat and he is happy.. |
I knew it couldn't be just Bailey that acts like this, I know I'm not tramatizing him, but he manages to lay on a guilt trip each and every time! :) |
Louis does that whenever I get in the closet to get one of his shirts. Whenever he sees me walking towards him with one of his sweaters, he takes off behind the couch. Then we have to play a game of "hide and seek," and that boy can run fast! LOL:D |
:D oh yes they are good at that aren't they!! Us Mothers have to do what we have to do!! :D Its ok I dont mind he runs when he sees me getting the bath ready... if he ran from me any other time I would worry!! |

Oh yes, How could I forget the clothing issue:rolleyes::p |
Well, I don't know about the clothes, because it's too darn hot down here in S.E. Texas to push the clothes issue on my Apple, but, as moms, we have to do what's best for our fur-babies, and a bath is a must...You just gotta do what a moms' gotta do in the best interest of their babies, so don't feel bad about the bath...Everyone tells me they'll get used to the clothes, in time, so if it's cold there, well, then clothes are in the best interest too lol... |
Bailey isn't the only one......Bella hides too. She's so smart that if she sees the special towel that we use, shampoo that I keep in a certain place or brushes, etc........off she goes. I have even tried hiding them under my shirt as I proceed to the bathroom. She even knows the word 'bath', not kidding! Strange thing is, she doesn't mind clothes. I think she believes they are harnesses which means she gets to go outside.:p |
All I have to say is...do you want a bath? and they run for cover!!! LOL...so funny...one will run and lay on hubbys lap and the other one will jump up on our bed and hide behind the pillow! all I can see is the top of her little head and those tiny brown eyes just looking at me! |

This truly does make me feel better!!:D |
Believe it or not Maddie is okay with bath time. Our battle is over medicine time. Maddie has eye meds every morning and night. Then she has drops throughout the day. I usually have to drag her out from under the bed...I really feel bad:( |
Roxy doesn\'t really mind baths, but not her favorite thing to do. I get the stuff ready, go do something else for awhile. I never mention the word bath. When she\'s forgotten about it, I get her & give her the bath. She\'s fine. She has gotten better about baths as time goes on. I use the kitchen sink. Yesterday she gently laid her head against my chest as I bathed her. Too cute! I think she enjoys it sometimes, but other times would rather be doing something else. |
Mine hear the bath water running and POOOF they are all hiding. Its funny. |
Alfie and Rosie both do a runner when I get their harnesses out for a walk, which is silly because they love walking, I think they just see it as a game. Rosie hates if I dress her in anything, she just stands there and looks so sad, though she is starting to get used to her hoodie which goes on if the tempreture drops too low at night. My mom calls it her nighty. She put a real guilt trip on me this morning, shes just come into season for the first time so she got left behind when I took Alfie for his walk. She stood with her little paws against the kitchen door looking through the glass. Apparently she cried and cried. |
