i am thinking about getting coby microchiped ? i 'm just thinking about doing this so if anything was too happen he got lost godforbid i can be able too locate him, has anyone on here had this done ? share youre thoughts please |
I had my Prada microchiped the same day she was spayed, she never goes anywhere without me, but I heard of a lady loosing her baby when she had a car accident, so that made me decide to microchip all my babies so they can be trace to me in case of an accident.. hugs, CArmen in nj |
Oh yes, I would definitely recommend microchipping. The YT breeder I'm getting my baby girl from is having her microchipped and I'm grateful for that! I also have a Cocker girl who is microchipped - it's just another "safe" measure to take to ensure your furbaby's well being. |
Yep, Miles got microchipped when he got neutered. Of course, we never plan on losing our puppies, but it makes me feel better knowing that I've done everything I can do to make sure I'd be able to find him if that were to happen. |
microchip I had to take a lost dog to the local animal shelter a few weeks ago. The first thing they did was to scan for a chip. If there had been one, we could have alerted the owners. |
wow im definitely having it done after reading this. what if somone finds a dog and they trie too keep it and its been microchipped will they still be able to track the puppy. dog |

The only way a microchip will work is if who ever finds the dog takes them to the Vet and the vet scans them. If someone finds a dog that is microchipped and doesnt take them to the vet no one will know or If someone finds a dog that is microchipped and takes them to the Vet and the vet doesnt scan them then they wont know I honestly think if I lost Peanut I wouldnt get him back, just bc he is a yorkie, and he is small. But there is that 1% chance of a good person will get him and return him, and thats why I had it done. Just bc you microchip does not mean you will get your dog back, I think its just the owners HOPE My exp in the vet I worked in everyone that came in with "new dogs" or just dogs in general wouldnt always get scaned...Now if you call your vet and they know your dog is missing and they see a dog come in that looks like your dog they will scan him It all depends on the vet, and the people |

"BE CAREFUL WITH HIM" What is that suppose to mean? They are going to dognap him! Oh please give me a break. I would have asked them what they mean by be careful with him...People are nuts. Get him mirco chipped and just ALWAYS know where your baby is, never let him out of your site for 1 sec, bc thats all it takes! |
Yep , Tias been micro- chipped |
I feel a little safer knowing Joey is chipped, you can always "prove" that the dog is yours, should someone decide to dognap and they live in the same complex. Lol, I'm not sure Joey would act like he knows me, if they're giving him better food. :D Vets should ask for some type of licensing/ownership papers when people bring in new animals, and I think it would be great if they automatically scanned all new dogs. Also, don't forget many dogs are simply lost, and if they wind up in the pound they will get scanned. Millions of dogs have been returned to their owners because of microchips, so it does give me a small sense of security, and if you travel a great deal, it would really seem important. I also register his chip number with the AKC, and they have a 24-hour lifetime lost and found service and will notify all local vets and pounds, in whatever cities you've been in. At a time when you probably can't think straight, it helps to have someone on your side. |
I do not believe that there is any reason NOT to get a dog microchipped. Couver got chipped when he was neutered, so he didn't even feel it :D The needle is kinda big, so I felt better knowing this. I feel good knowing he has some other form of identification should his collar fall off. I want to take any precaution I can to get my baby returned to me if he is ever lost. |
