Merlin was 8 1/2 weeks old, healthy 2lbs.

6 weeks :( I was under the impression she was 8 weeks but later found out she was younger, She is doing very well though :)

Jaxon was 4 12/ months old & 2lbs 6oz & Macy was 6 months old & just under 2lbs

Yes, 12 weeks is the right age for a yorkshire terrier to go to their new home. They are terriers and a small breed. Through many years of experience and experiences of top breeders - the recommended age is 12 weeks min. You will see this age recommendation also on Yorkshire Terrier Club of America Yorkies need more socialization with their mother and siblings, as well has being a little bigger to handle the stress of going to a new home so they will not have a stress episode and get hypoglycemia. I would never get a pup that was younger than 12 weeks and tells me something about the breeder too.

I got Billie a year ago at the age of 5
Ralphie came home in February just shy of his first birthday
Sophie will be coming home in just under 2 weeks at the age of 12 weeks

Sophie will be our third, and I still haven't gotten to name one of these pups! (Hubby picked Sophie, Billie just looks like a Billie, I tried to rename Ralphie Riley but no one would call him that!)

Wow....we are in the minority :eek: Sugar was 2 years old. She was absolutely 100% ready to be a part of my family by that age! I missed her puppy years :( But we make up for it daily :thumbup:

Ruby was exactly 4 months old. At first I thought that was a bit "old" but after reading here and learning so much, I realize she was "just right"

gwen-mix was 1 week (i had the whole litter and mom for about 12 weeks)

Maggie was app. 2, Mikki 12 weeks, Maximus app. 6, Minnie, app. 9 months and Mylo was 14 weeks...

Zeke was 8 weeks old, 2#, and an only child, and definitely ready. It only took him about two hours to adjust to us and our home. Of course, the minute he found out we would play with him, we were in, and he has been playing ever since. He is now 2.
