cant give him up Hi all I had put an ad in the yorkies for sale part of this forum. I was going to try and sell our little guy but have had a big change of heart. I had an especially bad day yesterday with my allergies. :( and was just so disheartened . I cant take a lot of meds for allergies as they give me a lot of heart palpitations so spend a lot of time with cold clothes on my red sore eyes. A breeder I got Jackson from came over and looked at our little 11 week old pup (Tommy) and said he will be a silk coated yorkie and will lose most of his soft coat by six to eight months. I cant give up on him yet.I am so hoping once he gets his silkier coat he I wont be so allergic to him. Jackson doesnt bother me since I got him at a year and a half. |
Oh, I so hope that it all works out for you. I understand the suffering of allergies, I too suffer, but thankfully not to the point that I'd have to get rid of one of my kids. What a wonderful breeder to take him back until he grows up some more. |
Also remember if you bath him on a regular basis it should help with your allergies. It is usually the dander in the pet hair that people are allergic to so bathing the pet helps. I hope you get to keep him. Theresa |
Oh don't give up on your baby it will all workout.... just bathe him alot to remove the dander as they already said in the above posts... |
I do hope it all works out for you.:) |
Good luck, I hope it all works out ok. Would it help to cut his puppy coat shorter if that is what is contributing to allergies? |
My late husband was allergic to cats ... his daughter loved them dearly, but when Barry got around cats his eyes swelled nearly shut, his nose ran like crazy - or worse, slammed shut! But he loved his daughter ... so there was a cat. After a while, he built up resistance to the cat, and he was OK. That was to *that* cat only! any other kitty made him suffer. I say this because MAYBE you will "get used" to your new pup. You're not allergic to the older one - which is strange: if you were going to be allergic to A dog, you'd think you'd be allergic to ALL dogs. So it very like IS a "time thing", and given enough of it, all will be well - or at least better. I hope this is the case for you. |
Thanks to everyone and your kind replys. I hope Lee you are right and I will get over this allergy. Maui Girl I might try your suggestion and cut his hair short . Never thought of that.:) and T Lynn yes bathing him is supposed to be good so we are doing that. Thanks To Fancy Pants,Timba,TLynn and Teresa thanks for your support. This is a very kind and caring site and I am glad I found it. |
