Addicted to bully sticks??? My yorkie is ADDICTED to them. If we let him have one he chews it for hours and runs from us if we try to take it away. If we do take it away about 1/2 hour later he will cry and howl until he gets it again. I want him to have them because they are good for him and they make him happy but he is obsessed. How can I stop the obsession?:animal36 |
maybe when he runs out dont buy the same thing buy something else from that company and save bully sticks as a real rare treat |
Your baby is S P O I L E D  :p Aww, I don't know if I would have the heart not to keep giving them to him, but maybe you could just save it is as a special treat - once a week or something like that. |
First of all why do you take them away...? Maybe if you give him the bully stick and just let him have it, he will get use to having it and it wont be so "new" to him everytime he gets it . He can chew when he wants to and vice versa... Maybe thats why he is so crazy bc he is chewing on it and you take it away... I dunno just a thought! |
My phantom gets upset when i take a chew treat from him but i guess im silly i get a kick out of it i think its cute when he acts like he is mad at me and softly growl to demand i give it back i swear i think everything this guy does is cute lol so you yorkie lovers are not the only ones obsessed with your babies i am guilty also hehe |
Mmmmmm bully sticks are like dog crack, aren't they? Nikko loves his too, and when we first give one to him he starts to panic - should he find a good hiding spot to "bury" it, or should he eat it immediately? Decisions, decisions! Anyways, my best suggestion is to make him do whatever tricks he knows before you give it to him. Hold it in your hand while you're making him do his tricks, and be sure he learns that you're the boss of him and won't give him the bully until he performs for you. Lauren & Nikko |
