msobey | 09-22-2009 07:59 AM | Yorkie Teeth My yorkie is 1.5 years old, we just got him a little while ago and some of his baby teeth came out since we have had him but he still has probably 5-6. I am very warry of using anesthetia on him since he is under 3 lbs. Our vet charges an additional $20 per tooth pull on top of his teeth cleaning visit (which is very reasonable but the 20 x 6 is not so much) so I am really not wanting to pay the extra if I don't have to. His breath is sort of smelly, but I am pregnant and it may just be my super sensitive nose. His teeth look great, just a tiny bit of plaque that will be taken care of in a few months. We have another yorkie we got when he was 3 and one of his teeth was rotted and had to be pulled and our little Squirt's teeth are white and healthy, even though he has extras. We brush them twice a week and he even lets me floss between the teeth. If they pull out his baby teeth he will have gaps where his adult teeth never came in and I am worried about this. Any suggestions? |
