Does wavy puppy = wavy adult?

Lexi has some wave in her coat. It is not as bad right now because I blow dried her after her bath. Bentley's is very straight even though I think he is going to have a cottony coat. Both of her parents look to have very straight hair. Her father has even won a couple shows. Does wavy hair now mean wavy adult hair? I attached a few pictures of her. It is really hard to tell in them to me, but the first one is her first night home and she had played a LOT.

A slight wave to a puppy's coat will probably straighten out okay. There is a reference about coat texture that I will try to find and add here when I do that says a slightly wavy coat as a puppy will likely turn to a straight silky coat. Ben had a little wave around the hips, it is staight as can be now.

I found the reference -- I remembered wrong. It says: "Wavy coats are visible in Yorkie puppies at a very early age and in general portend a light silver adult. A slight waviness on the upper hindquarters is not unusual in many Yorkies, but should be watched."

Ben is not a light silver, he is a fairly dark steel blue. But his waviness was slight (I could blow dry it out completely), just on the hips, and left very soon.

I couldn't tell you if Stormy was wavy as a pup but she sure had some wavy curls around her back side when it started to grow out as an adult!

Sophie had a somewhat wavy coat and it is getting less wavy now as it's growing out, but I can see some silver hairs growing in, so I figure maybe the prediction a previous poster mentioned may be correct. Sophie's daddy, Jack, had a silky silver coat and it was beautiful so I'm betting she ends up with a silver coat since I can see the silver hairs coming through.

It seems like most of the wave is on her legs and booty. The last picture is before bath/blowdry and her back dosen't seem to have the wave like the rest of her. I don't know, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. :)

I didn't notice waves as pups but, as adults they got wavy around their butts...I think it's cute! :p

I had a pup with a alot of wave to her coat and I ended up shaving off the puppy coat and it came back straight.

Mine was just the opposite. To begin with, Ginger had a straight coat - just fluffy. She has a thick coat, mostly cottony. Doesn't matt too bad though. We gave her a puppy cut and now it's growing back very wavy. Even her topknot is starting to get wavy. Is she going to have this coat from here on out? She is just about 10 months. Jada is about 2 1/2 and if i dont blow dry her hair and straigten it after a bath she is wavy on her butt. The front part of her is straight and silky. I usually just let her dry naturally,combing her as she dries, I like her wavy little bum.
