Home from hospital
 
Odie was neutered today. He had 5 baby teeth removed too.. He is doing well and resting comfortably. Thank God it is over.. :aimeeyork

Yes I think so too, although he isn't moving too quick this evening..

Yes, that's the hard part. I have stairs for the dogs everywhere for the furniture; they were both neutered when they were young, before they got so brave. I could strand Bella on the furniture all day: she won't get off if the stairs aren't there. Puddie? Well, he's a BOY - 'nuff said :rolleyes:. Most of the time he uses the stairs, but when's he's feeling playful, he'll launch himself off the furniture like a rocket :D. But at any rate, because they were young, it was easier to control what they did.

Good luck with Odie's recovery. He'll be just fine in no time at all.

I have a question, How long did it take for your babies to feel more like themselves? My vet wants me to kennel Odie for at least 10 days :confused:

They each slept most of the first day when they came home. Then the next day, they were more active. By the NEXT day, they were acting pretty close to normal.

The boys, they just have a little snip and it's done. I think Puddie was "stitchless" - they used glue. Bella had stitches in her belly - a hysterectomy. It amazed me how fast she bounced back (*I* sure didn't when it was MY turn!)

The vet wants you to keep him quiet so he doesn't "over do" things - get too wild, act like a Yorkie young'un - you know: full of life and bouncing all over the place :D. The vet wants him to relax and heal completely first.

Odie may have other ideas about how he wants to spend the next few days ;)

Well he was like a younger pup but l think this will settle him a bit :rolleyes:
He was happy go lucky bouncing all over the place. So we will see just what he will be like later :eek:
He has managed to pee which is good, and he has had water.. that is about it too.
I feel so bad :sad:
But I know that it is for the best for him.

It's a new day over there on your side of the Big Pond ... how's Odie doing today? He should be feeling better today (although - depending on his personality! - he may be "milking it" for extra attention :rolleyes:).

You're very right: we all feel so badly doing what is essentially a good thing for our furbabies. They hurt for a few days, and wonder what happened - but it IS all for the best on oh-so-many levels. You did the right thing for him - acted in his best interests.

Anyways an update on Odie, well this morning at 6 we went pee and finally ate some kibble. wooohooo. Now he is sleeping for a bit and yes I agree he is milking it really good .. He won't walk too far he looks up at me with his sad face and waits for me to pick him up:rolleyes: But I did this to him so yeah I pick him up and cuddle him close and tell him he is a good boy and Mommy loves him lots.. I don't know who is spoiled more.. Me or Odie :D

Aw poor little guy. He had an ordeal. He will be his normal self soon. He had an operation after all. Hopeing he feels better soon. Glad to hear he's eating. Just make sure he drinks..that's important. Good luck and feel better little Odie.

Thanks for your well wishes, Yes Odie is drinking lots which I know is good and he is peeing as well. He is walking around too.
I know that he will be on his feet soon enough :rolleyes:

Laughs, NO but l did sleep in the living room on the couch with Odie in his kennel. Just to make sure that if he needed anything l would hear him.;)
