Chicken soup makes a nice coat. 3 Attachment(s) I have been feeding chicken soup for 6 straight months now,and I cant believe the differnce it has made in Riley's coat!.His coat was coarse and kiinda dull looking. it was also thin and wouldnt grow long. we were feeding Iams,as recommend by the vet.But since he has been on the chicken soup his coat has completely improved. now it is growing like crazy, its so soft and silky, and it has a beautiful shine to it. I had to keep it cut short before because it just looked really bad otherwise. take a look at it now, needles to say we are staying with Chicken soup! |
Oh I should have mentioned for those not familiar, This is Chicken soup for the dog lovers soul, brand dry dog food! that I am referring too! |
Oh wow! His coat looks GORGEOUS! So shiny! |
I also feed Chicken Soup and I love it. I feed it to the older dos and I feed it to the puppies. My dogs all love it and we like the results. |
His coat does look nice and healthy. I have all mine on the Chicken Soup right now. I have been using it on and off for years. |
I just wanted you to know that Chicken Soup contains ethoxyquin as a preservative.....Among other problems with it it is a cancer causer I have a thread in Health and Diet if you want to check it..... "Of types of dog food, the “premium” brands of dry dog foods are most often incriminated. However, no correlation of adverse effects with age, gender or breed of dog is apparent. The reported signs include liver, kidney, thyroid and reproductive dysfunction, teratogenic and carcinogenic effects, allergic reactions and a host of skin and hair abnormalities. There have been anecdotal reports that some of these conditions have resolved after replacement of the ETQ-containing diet with a diet thought to be free of ETQ." |
His coat is beautiful and shiny! |
Chicken Soup OMG I am so glad you clarified that it was a dry dog food and not condensed soup. I thought you must have lost your mind. Laura |

http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/ Diamond manufactures for a lot of pet food companies. Diamond admitted to the author of these articles that they do use ethoxyquin as a preservative . The ingredient is put on by the fish meal supplier before it goes to the pet food processor. IF a pet food manufacturer want to hide the fact that it's in their food they will state that they don't use it, because THEY didn't put it in there....A little white lie I guess...... I find it hard to believe that Chicken Soup would be the only food not using this when all the ones on this list are also manufactured by Diamond and they do have it in them.... If I'm not mistaken it was Diamond that had the issues with melamine a while back.......Doesn't look like a company that can be trusted making pet food..... Unsafe: Artemis Pet Foods Per Diamond Pet Food (manufacturer) “all fish meal, ocean fish meal, and salmon meal ingredients are preserved with ethoxyquin.” Canidae/Felidae Pet Foods Per Diamond Pet Food (manufacturer) “all fish meal, ocean fish meal, and salmon meal ingredients are preserved with ethoxyquin.” Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Pet Foods Per Diamond Pet Food (manufacturer) “all fish meal, ocean fish meal, and salmon meal ingredients are preserved with ethoxyquin.” Diamond Pet Foods Per DiamondPet Food (manufacturer) “all fish meal, ocean fish meal, and salmon meal ingredients are preserved with ethoxyquin.” Natural Balance Pet Foods Per Diamond Pet Food (manufacturer) “all fish meal, ocean fish meal, and salmon meal ingredients are preserved with ethoxyquin.” Premium Edge Pet Foods Per Diamond Pet Food (manufacturer) “all fish meal, ocean fish meal, and salmon meal ingredients are preserved with ethoxyquin.” Taste of the Wild Pet Foods Per Diamond Pet Food (manufacturer) “all fish meal, ocean fish meal, and salmon meal ingredients are preserved with ethoxyquin.” Maybe the site that rates pet foods just looks at nutritional aspects of the food.... __________________ |
Chicken Soup We have been using Chicken Soup for years. But here lately my babies are spitting it out. So I have changed don't know about this new food. But they seem like they like it. Yes, it does give them a shinny coat. My babied did so good on it... Cheryl |
I switched from our "vet recommended" Science Diet (big fat joke if you ask me since I though Science Diet had to be good because it was vet recommended!) to Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul & my pups are doing great on it. They're almost 11 months old now & have been eating it for about a month now. I researched MANY brands & got tons of samples to see what would work. I know that I checked to see if it had ethoxyquin & I didn't see anything. TOTW is on that list too & many people use that brand & highly recommend it. I am sticking with Chicken Soup for now, as it seems to be a great food & has excellent nutritional content! |
