A dog with long hair requires about 20 minutes to vacuum. A dog with short hair requires less time. are they serious?? |

Eek  what a visual. Reminds me of my daughter using the leaf blower to clean out the inside of her car. Very creative!!! |
I had a Jack Russell before and he loved to be vaccumed. Jada and Bogie no way!!! They aren't afraid of the vaccum they attack it. It is hilarious!!! I don't even have to turn it on just move it back and forth and they go at it like they are killing something. We get it out when we want them to get some exercise:D |

You might ask the pet store employee if she has a Yorkie. Tehre is a huge difference in vacuuming a Yorkie and a larger dog as some have given their own experience. If you are using a hand vac and the puppy does not mind, I would just be very careful that the hair and skin are not being pulled too hard. But I know you wouldn't hurt the little guy, you love him and that is why you are trying so hard to find a way to keep him! Good luck -- hope some of the ideas I passed in my previous post could help as well. |

Thanks to all for your reply's. I thought people were upset but guess you are right Debra that they are just surprised. You cant hear tone of voice or see expressions on here so sometimes just reading the words you get the wrong impression.I am sometimes overly sensitive though. Thanks |
I to have asthma/allergies. Cats will put me in the hospital, dogs are mild, thank goodness. I get the runny/itchy/watery eyes/nose sneezing. My eyes really only bother if I touch them without washing them after touching Madison. I went into the hospital a few months ago, with an attack not sure what set me off, as I have other allergies also. I thought for sure the therapist were going to tell me to get rid of my dog. I was prepared to tell them to kiss my butt, I'll deal with it. But, she told me to vacuum daily, and wash everything of her's once a week. Use the hypo-allergenic dog shampoo. Wipe her down daily with dog wipes. Have someone else do the grooming/bathing. Keep the dog away from your bedding. Again wash your hands before touching your face/food. I also take Claritin 24 hr everyday. These are some of the things my Respiratory therapist talked with me about. I hope some of this may help you. Good luck to you!!:) |
No, I've never vacuumed Fancy - she is amused by the vacuum though and will follow me around the house will I sweep but the minute I take the hose out to get in the corners she takes off! |
