Kootersmomma | 09-19-2009 10:44 AM | Thank each of you so very much!!! I cannot begin to thank each of you for signing, your kind words and welcomes. I have worked so very hard on this from the minute my little girl died and will continue to work until she is punished, I do also believe in karma and the ever after, I suspect hers will be a very warm stay. From the first day I have tried to get as much attention for this situation as possible. I had very good support from a reporter at Channel 3 in Madison. Other than that it is has been sparse. We have one legislator who I believe might be behind the inspection from the humane society. I have a lot of contact with those that work in rescue and will be meeting many of them this coming Wednesday at the state capital since there will be a hearing for the bill that was introduced. But most of the people that have helped me have been those that care about animals as a whole. I have emailed Oprah, Dr. Phil, Ellen and anyone and everyone up to the govenor. While I basically live in Oprahs back yard I was really surprised that she did not respond. I have tried a couple more times and even went through her facebook page but nothing. We are aware that there will be opposition to the legislation from those legitmate breeders who do not breed unless the pups are spoken for but until the laws are firmed up there will be no way to get those with the power to inspect and proscute people like Jennifer who is nothing but a puppy mill broker using the word "rescue" with a non for profit number. It is so sad.... It has been my intention to contact the State Journal. Will you let me know if they respond to you? I have hoped that we could get someone else involved as well. I did forward the information to reporter at the local CBS affiliate but have not heard back. Since they removed almost 400 animals from this facility it was literally overwhelming to the humane society and in the beginning Jennifer would not relinquish her righgts to the animals. In June Jennifer made an agreement that she would release about 270 animals if they would give her back the 10 that she called her "personal pets". If you do the math there is about 100 animals that need to be relinquised. I have been told that Jennifer will not let them go to rescues or be adopted out. For whatever reason the DA's office has filed a civil suit against Jennifer that is supposed to be her in October. They are hoping that they can get it court ordered to have then released to forever homes. Since the trial is not scheduled until the spring of next year they do not want to hold the animals that long, therefore we have the civil hearings. Even though this county is 2 hours from my home I plan to make the hearings every day possible. I ordered a poster of my little Kasey with some dates and that she is a Thyme and Sage victim. I can only hope that I can take the sign in with me. I also had wallet pictures made of the poster and am going to put my contact information and the petition website. I figure I can pass them out to the people that I meet. Someone suggested a t-shirt so I am going to look into that this week. Being on the school board locally keeps me busy and of course this takes some time I am only thankful that I have to time to dedicate to this. Again my sincerest thanks...I am little by little getting used to your site. I am on another site for mom of Army soldiers. My son just left for his second deployment a week ago. I am thankful that he is in Iraq again because it appear Afganistan is much more active. The first deployment was during a time when my son's base had the highest rate of lost soldiers. It was very unnerving and every contact was a blessing. Finding support in online groups is pricelss. I have a lot of friends but none that have soldiers or yorkies...Both can be very trying at time. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great Saturday...I will try to get back on later... Big hugs, Penny Kooters momma :animal-pa |
