Why are little boy's shirts designed... so long that they pee on them? Some clothing has been designed to accommodate a harness - with a hole on the back.... Why not have a cut out or a shorter front (tummy area) so little boys have a clear shot for potty? Maybe I've just bought the wrong shirts, but everyone is so long that Remy's wee wee is pretty much underneath. How can you possibly potty in these things? Its a pain to disrobe each time we need to go outside, so I've resorted to using a binder clip to hold the bottom of the shirt to the neckline while we go potty. This is, admittedly, a rudimentary strategy. We look a bit silly, and sometimes it is not that effective and we still manage to pee on our shirt, however its the best I can come up with, short of taking the shirt off. They are all size small, he's 5.5 lbs and xtra small is too tight through the shoulder area. So, I don't think its a sizing issue, it seems to be a lack of good design... |
I totally agree! I have often wondered this same thing and have only found a few shirts that are actually cut up enough so Simon doesn't pee on them! It's very frustrating~ |
It is strange, the manufacturers forgot to put on their thinking caps I guess:rolleyes: Some of Bailey's are cut shorter underneath, and some I have had to hem up myself. |

I usually cut a U shape out from the underside and re-hem. Then they are the length I/they need them to be. |

It's just frustrating when you spend $$ on clothes and then have to take the additional time to rework them...they should just cut the tummy areas short in production! |

One day Coco had his shirt on and then had an accident. My daughter asked me where his shirt is and my other daugher said, "oh Coco peed in his pants" Poor Coco always pees in his pants. :D I get his little shirts at build a bear and they are a bit shorter. He does good with those. |
Most of Chachis are cut high on the bottom so he doesnt get pee on them but one I got at Target isnt. |

If you made the hem wide enough cutting a knit sweater would be ok, but you could double stitch for piece of mind. Just make sure you create an actual hem where the cut end is securely tucked in and unravelling should not be a problem. Of course, you'd have to cut less off to create an adequate hem (2 folds) so keep that in mind when measuring to cut a half inch less than you think you need. |
It depends on the shirts you buy....some of them are shorter on the underside to accomodate the boys, but some just aren't. I have several polo shirts from Old Navy and they all have a shorter underside. Also, if you ever buy shirts from Rena at www.barkindogclothes.com, you can request to have the underside made shorter for the boys. I think most of the shirts that I buy for Mocha do have a shorter underside, but sometimes they're just not short enough. |
