Just visited the boarding facility I've pretty much decided I will board Mia when we go to FL in late June/July for 1 week. We just got back from the facility - www.enchantmentpetresort.com . She will be groomed there on Sunday afternoon and start classes on the 28th to help get her used to the people/place. I was impressed that you COULD NOT smell ANYTHING similar to a pet odor and no chemical odors either. She will have a 4x6' "room" with heated/cooled floors. Air in the room totally circulates every 12 sec. Food, 2x day playtime 1 on 1 with a handler and treats for $25/day. They also provide "insurance" up to $350 if she catches anything from another animal/person. They are VERY picky on needing ALL medical records before they will accept a dog for anything and the people I've talked to say they've never caught anything. While it's not Home, I feel pretty good about it. They feed FLINT RIVER RANCH food - any experiences with it. They also sell many other premium brands. TIA Julie |
Flint River Yum I have read a little of the Flint River product and it is highly recommended. It can be very difficult to find but is considered a premium gourmet dog food, Lucky mia, she will be hard to unspoil when she gets home. |
boarding Sounds like a good place to board your baby. Take the food you always feed your Yorkie..Flint River is a good food, but you do not want to change foods abruptly, especially under the stress of be away from you in a kennel. My Yorkies would not eat the Flint River dry kibble. |
I'm planning to take her regular food, but their trainer gave me a bag of Flint River and said to use it as treats for her between now and then and she will think she is getting one big reward the whole time she is there. I'm hoping her grooming time there goes well on Sunday. |
Awesome! I love their advertising -- single, double, or triple occupancy!! She will be spoiled. They sound mucho reputable, especially after reading the requirements for the daycare program!!! 1 ??: Where's this place at? |
They are in Rio Rancho New Mexico just outside of Albuquerque. When I went the daycare was WAY too cute. Outside in the playyard and they were all sitting in a row TAKING TURNS chasing balls and doing the obstacle course. And this was probably a dozen dogs from a small male yorkie to a Big dog (I'd guess about 70 lbs) I didn't recognize the breed of. With only ONE trainer that I saw. They all knew just what to do and where to go. As we left they were just playing with many balls on their own with supervision. If Mia were spayed I'd have to take her to Daycare. |
It is so great that you found a place that you personally feel comfortable with knowing Mia will be safe and sound with. There is no price tag you can put on that. Mia has the best of both worlds home and away too!! :D |
