1-800 Petmeds question I had ordered the small chewable Iverhart heartworm pills from 1-800 PetMeds after two attempts to get my dog to eat the big Heartgard chewables the vet gave me failed. But they give him diarrhea for a day so I asked the vet staff today about it and they claimed Petmeds doesn't store things properly and repackages old medications so that was what was probably giving him diarrhea. But of course they had nothing to offer but the big Heartgard. Does anyone have any information about 1-800 PetMeds or is it just the vet staff trying to sell their products? |

I order my things from there and havent had any problems either. I use interceptor. |
A vet tech on another forum said that they have had problems with petmeds.com. |
I don't know either way, but any internet site is somewhat of a risk. I know vets want you to buy their products, so it is hard to know when to trust them, but if my vet's staff had a concern about a particular site, I wouldn't use it. Your vet can order a small Heartgard pill (not Heartgard Plus) or anyting else you need if they want to be nice. They can also write you a script and you can get it filled at another vet's office in your area if you don't want to use an online pharmacy. Does your vet carry Interceptor? |
I have used 1 800 Ped Meds, too. When I told my vet's office I was using Ped Meds because they cost less they did not have anything negative to say about them. The Heartguards are large for a Yorkie but I just break them up into four little pieces and Sophie gobbles them right up. Jackie and my :littleangSophie :aimeeyork |

I took that as breaking it and giving it in four bites all at the same time just so it's easier to chew which should be just fine. |
