ornamental | 09-16-2009 08:18 AM | What does this mean? Hi everyone! I have 2 yorkies, a male and a female. Maxwell, the male is 8 months and Mercedes, the female is 7 months. Mercedes seems to be the dominant one and is more vocal than Maxwell. My question is, why does Mercedes "howl" whenever she sees us, especially in the morning? Whenever one of us walks out of our bedroom, she will run to us with excitement and then let out a cute howl. Sometimes it's a very long and loud howl. I guess that's her way of greeting us, especially in the morning, but is this normal for Yorkies? Maxwell, the male, has never done this. He is very quiet and only barks if he hears a sudden noise or the doorbell rings. But he always stops right afterwards. Mercedes, on the other hand, is very vocal and barks alot more. I find her howling very cute but it puzzles me that Maxwell doesn't do that. I'm just wondering if this is normal behaviour for a Yorkie. |
