Just some "food for thought" This was on my homepage this morning and I just wanted to pass along incase someone didn't already know that a common ingredient in sugarless gum and snacks can cause a canine catastrophe. Clink the link below to read. Sugar-Free Gum and Snacks Can be Deadly for Pets - Paw Nation |
Thanks for that I am interested in knowing if people really give their pets candy??? :thumbdown |

I once knew a lady that gave her big old fat dog a whole candy bar every day! Kids have been known to give gum and candy to dogs. And, if you know dogs like I do, you will know that they are very good at going through purses and backpacks when no one is looking! You have no idea what they eat off the sidewalk when out on a walk. Be especially careful at outdoor events such as craft fairs. |

I mainly posted so I could tell you how adorable that avatar is -- LOVE the Pirate Look! :D Wish I knew how to spell the whistle sound -- woot, woot? Anyway he is very dashing and daring in his skull & crossbone look complete with eye patch! |
I recently purchased, from my vet, an additive for the dogs water,(for their teeth) that contains that xylitol :O ... do you suppose in the minute amount its safe? Anyone? |

Yeah, double  !! I am always reminding my kids not to give Fancy any candy and when they get their treat don't let it drop on the floor. They are really good about picking it up super fast if they drop something. Thanks for the reminder for the outdoor events - I'm taking Fancy with us to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk in a couple of weeks and they have booths set up some with candy on the tables. I will be on the look out for candy on the ground now. |

I wouldn't give it either. You can visit another YTer's site her screen name is Breny and she is a rep for Life's Abundance dog food (my first bag should be here tomorrow:D) - they have an additive to add to water for dental care in dogs. Here is the link Clothes, Beds, Healthy Food, Treats, - Pet DENTAL Care to visit her site and take a look at it. I second the brushing the teeth atleast once a week - or more. The additive is not going to do it all but I'm sure can help along with good brushing. |
