Rescue Remedy... Have you used it? What do you think about it? I have found Rescue Remedy for people at GNC, but I can only find the one for pets online. |
I tried it with Lola when she had major anxiety issues. It didn't work for her at all. We had to focus more on the behavior modification techniques. |
I tried it, and I didn't like it and it didn't work! |
Zeke is thunder and fireworks nervous. For storms, I try to put a drop or two on a treat about 15 minutes prior. I have heard that putting a drop or two on one of their foot pads will get it into their body a little quicker. I would find someone who has a bottle as a small bottle can run $10-15. Alcohol free is best, the other is 27% alcohol like your store bought vanilla/other extracts. |
I have used it, didnt see much difference. But when I tried Rockrose on a little girl who seamed afraid of everything i could hardly believe it. I'd brought Poppy for show but seamed nervous of being examined and other dogs. Tried everything, then some-one told me about Rockrose. I gave her a low dose for a few days before then on the morning of the show & throughout the morning while waiting to go into the ring. The change was noticable even while we waited as she actually sniffed at other dogs & people outside the ring. Inside she stood on her box, no shaking, the judge went over her & she stood rocksolid & walked like a pro. She didnt win anything but she was a champ in my eyes that day. |
I haven't had to use it on my three girls, but used it quite a few times with fosters that were afraid of car rides and other fearful things with great results. I have a friend with a JRT who was very traumatized riding in a car and I had her give him 4 drops about 45 minutes before a trip and it worked like a charm. Maybe giving only two drops just isn't enough. I never bought the Rescue Remedy for dogs. The ones I bought were for people. I doubt there is a difference anyway. |
