Best clean up product? What is the best product to use to get out urine odor? DH has shampooed the carpet with one of those industrial carpet cleaners but there is still a urine odor. |
Nature's Miracle is a favorite on this site. I've never personally used it though! |
We use Nature's Miracle here. But also the Clorox Anywhere. |
White Vinegar & water |
CARPETS ARE HIRRIBLE.. I hate them so much myself. I use petzyme i buy it at petsmart but i also heard that natures miracle works great. Good luck i know how you feel to :) |

Wow, I'm going to have to try this homemade recipe first! It got lots of great reviews! |
I just had a horrible experience. Cats are always hanging around teasing my Yorkie because they know she is on a leash and can't go after them. Then last week, she escaped and took off after one of them. I was terrified and we safely got her home again. A few nights later we forgot and left the car window down--only about 7 inches, but big enough for some cat to jump in and spray on Daisy's car seat (snoozer) and all over the front and back of the driver's seat and on the floor in the back. I had some Nature's Miracle on hand and gave it a try. The car seat was saved and most of the car is okay. I just have a few spots left to work on. It says on the bottle not to use anything else first because it will interfere with the enzyme action. I am happy with this product, but always on the lookout for good suggestions. Good luck!:) |
Thanks for the link for the recipe..... |
I've used almost every product on the market. I've also bought the ebay guy's recipe for the home mixture. I find that vinegar and water work great for clean up but do not break down the urine by enzyme action the way that the ebay guy's recipe does or the enzymes in Nature's Miracle. So, I generally use water/vinegar for "fresh" stains on tile and sealed wood floors but if it is bedding or anything like carpet, I go for the enzymes. The ebay guy's recipe works ok but I never quite got all the smells out of every place I tried it and it never worked well for me inside the carpet cleaner machine. Did I mention I tossed most of my carpets? I invested in baby gates LOL |
I swear by odoban for urine odors. I buy the huge concentrated bottle from my local warehouse club (I use it for my small animal cages since its an awesome disinfectant & anti-fungal, kills viruses). For the few accidents Winston had when I brought him home I just used some soap and water & followed up with the odoban after. The odors haven't come back and he's never marked again. When I was an apartment manager we also used this on the rugs for odors and pet smells when needed (didn't always save carpets but it does help a lot.) They also make a line aimed towards pet issues, for hardwoods, carpets and other things. (The normal odoban is an odor remover/disinfectant/anti-fungal). I've seen the odoban stain removal in a couple places, one being walmart and I believe home depot as well. |
I use the BioDeOrderizer from Trilogy. It gets rid of odors by digesting their sources, utilizing friendly bacteria that eliminate organic wastes. It’s non-toxic, fully biodegradable, has a neutral pH and contains no harmful phosphates. What I like is it totally pet friendly and works :) heres the link: PlanetHome And click on Products at the top |
