Any news? Has Thumper found a new home yet?

I have Thumper posted on Petfinder and on here. He has had a really good day today. I just try to watch the dogs closely when they are all out together. The only time there has been a real problem is when Romeo or Addi try to get near Tori (which they love to try to do). A scary thing just happened though. I have already received 4 replies back from Petfinder and 2 of them gave me their phone numbers. I searched their phone numbers through google and the one is a pet collector. She has a history of getting pets from petfinder or the pound and breeding or trying to sell them. Her post sounded really good (she said she worked for a vet and had experience with abused animals). I am glad I did a google search on her number. Here is what i found out: (this is copied from my google search that I did on her phone number):

I bought this deplorable Dobe (picture link attached) in this evening from Frazyburg and the woman there is breeding everything from Dobes, Min Pins, St. Bernards & Boxers. I brought in a Min Pin that I don't have the picture taken of yet and she got him from a pound down that way to breed her female and now has a litter of pups from that but has left this male in awful shape. She has St. Bernard pups also 6 weeks old very sick. I also brought in a female Dobe very ill and starved almost to death. Her name is Tina Wise and she is calling her place TLC Rescue but it isn't a rescue but a breeding place. She says she needs dog food because the Humane Society who helps with dog food isn't helping anymore. I have a St. Bernard I want to try and bring out of there Friday but my friend I need help seeing if there is a way to stop her from starving the animals she is getting from the shelters and just stopping her from getting anymore to breed. You are an angel for rescuing Thumper. I know you will find him a good loving home. Wouldn't it be great if everyone loved there pets the way we do here.

I am still trying to get my mom to take him. He is adorable. and Like I said before she lives by her self with no other pets. She use to have a poodle , But some one stole it. She has been wanting a Yorkie, She loves mine. and my two are just crazy about her. She is broke right now, we all had to help pay on a funeral. But I am hoping maybe my brothers and sisters can pull together and maybe get this little guy for her. I keep telling them it would give her a lot of company and would be the best of early Christmas gift. Still trying Debbie.

That is great! That sounds like a good home where he will get lots of individual attention :) I hope that works out for both of you :)

Sorry to hear how this did not work out for you. He should definetely go to an adult only/no children home and be the only dog around. He probably would work out well to someone who is retired or something. Good luck.

Debbie, Thumper would probably make an ideal pet for your Mom. He is a good listener and well trained. He is just so frightened of everyone. Feel free to message me and you can come and meet him. I just know there is a home waiting for him somewhere. He goes to the vet on Thursday and I thought I would put a sign up in her office. They also run a dog rescue out of their building so hopefully they can help. He is such a smart guy. I just hate to think what might have happened to him.

I have a lady coming tomorrow night (Thursday) to meet Thumper. She is a single mom with a 15 year old boy. I think Thumper would be alright in that situation. Pray that things go OK at the meeting. We told her that she could not take him Thursday night but that we would bring him to her house on Saturday if she wanted to adopt him. How do we know if we are making the right decision. I am so afraid that he will go to a home that is not right for him. Any hints or clues to tell if the potential adoptee is honest and sincere? He also has a vets appointment Thursday night, so I hope I am not overloading him with new things. He might be off the wall Thursday night.

Just listen to your heart, you will know in your heart if this is the right choice or not...

I know if it were my "baby", I'd have to do a home inspection. Go see their house, talk to them there, get the number of their vet (if they've had pets in the past) and see what kind of owners their vet says they are, etc. Maybe that sounds kinda pyscho, but When I've adopted out pups I've rescued, I want to be absolutely sure they are getting the best possible home with the best possible people. Hope things work out!
