It's the ears again.... I just got my little Bella. She is 15 months old and her ears are "floppy". Was wondering if I can get them to stand up? I do know of the taping method, but so far she isn't keeping it on. Such a stinker. I have shaved both the front and back of her ears. They will stand from the bottom to half way up and flop the top half. When she seems to get excited or defensive they seem to stand up. But when content and relaxed they flop. If it's not to late, what is the best kind of tape to use? I don't really want to use anything that is to sticky that would hurt to take off. Any advice? Cann't complain she came potty-trained. So far I'm amazed how smart she is. She didn't know any commands and she has learned a couple of things within a couple of days. Thanks. |
Fiona is 18 months old, and she has floppy ears as well. we did everything, and her ears are just floppy, ive noticed that she will stand them straight up when she wants something, or if she is trying to find something! so dont you worry, i'm sure she will stand them up when she wants.... :) |
I like the floppy ears :) But, by 15 months, they probably won't stand. I'm sure someone else could give you better info. |
One of mine did the same thing....I just gave up and excepted the floppy ears.....But every time he lifts them up when he wants something I just look at him and say...."You little stinker, you can lift those up, your just being lazy!"..;) |
gatsbys ears feel after he had a allergic reaction well first one then the other but i was devistated the vet said his ears wear too big but after a week they stood up and they keep up and they are still huge so i dont know what to say try asking the vet if they can tape them maybe |
Ears Sprocket is 4 months and her ears flop down often. We tape them up ever other day if they droop. I have read this is only helpful if they are under 6 months. |
:):aimeeyorkThanks everyone. I've been wondering if her previous mom didn't help get them up. She had a lot of hair on them before I shaved them. I might try taping them up again for a few times. But she is absolutely adorable no matter what. With her floppy ears she looks kinds mischievious. I will be bugging the fire out of all you experience yorkie parents since I'm new to all this. My next thing is, I really don't want to pay for grooming, so I need to find a really good website on how to do different cuts. Or a good book would do. Thanks again. |
My angel is even more special and unique because hers don't stand up. I'm so glad now. She wouldn't be as cute I don't think! Well, I would think she is precious anyway, but I like them down! She's a hit wherever we take her anyway. People freak over her! She loves it! So, I say embrace it! It's just part of their unique character! |
