I'm finally a "Mommy"! It's finally happened...my DH fianlly gave in and I got my little girl on Sunday! Her name is Lily :aimeeyork and she's almost 9 wks old. Leah, my Grand-dog and Lily haven't met yet and I'm anxious for them to get together. I think they'll enjoy eachother. Took her to the vet today and she's very healthy, so that's a releaf. Her ears are "floppy" which has me a little worried, I really want her ears to be up but the vet said they will. Is there anything I need to do to help them along? Well, I haven't been on for a while...changed jobs and now I have "Snail Mail"....but I'm hoping to be on more now...you guys really help when questions arise. :) |
Congratulations on your new addition!! It is so exciting to have a new furbaby running around.:) |
Congrats! :) |
Congratss !! |
Congratulations on your new addition! |
Aw congrats!!!!! |
Congratulations!!!! You will find very helpful information on this website. You may want to google :taping yorkies ears or getting Yorkies ears to stand. But I'm sure there is someone on this website that can walk you through it. Good Luck with her and I hope your Hubbie loves her just as much as you do. |
Thanks Thank you....I'm just so glad to finally have her! DH is crazy about her he tries to hide it but we all know how they get when they're ohhing and awing over them too. I'm sure I'll be asking all sorts of questions! ;) |
Congratulations! Keeping the hair off the tips of the ears will help get them up. |
Congrats, she is a doll. If you trim the hair on her ears it helps them get up. Good luck! |
Congratulations - Lily is a cutie ;) |
Congrats on your new puppy. I wouldn't worry so much about them getting along. I have a 2 year old Maltese, Cody and got my baby, Colt so Cody would have a brother he could play with. And play, they do!! They just love each other. |
You can shave the tips of her ears (both sides) from about 1/3 down to the tips. This has been pretty successful for me to get a puppy's ears to stand. If that does not work within a couple of weeks, I would consider taping but I don't like to do this (it doesn't hurt the pup, I just don't like to do it) but its relatively easy. Good luck and congrats on your new baby! :) |
Congrats on your puppy!! :D Don't worry about the ears, 9 wks is still really young for them to be standing up. Most don't start until 3 or 4 months and then they may flop back down during teething. Also, make sure she's kept from other dogs until after she's had all of her shots. You certainly don't want to risk her catching something. I know it seems like an eternity until then, but it's so worth it to keep your baby safe. :) |
Congratulations on your little girl! Lily is a great name. Cant wait to see pics of her :) |
