Someone new in the home!
 

Hiya, hope you all keeping well!

Just wanted to ask a few questions really. My bf has just moved in with me and Bailey, he gets on great with Bailey and everything is ok there. I've been giving bailey alot of extra attention due to the fact that my bf now lives with us and i dont want him to feel pushed out, but he has become very clingy with me (which i kind of like) but i also know it is not good. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Also my bf does not like bailey on the couch (i know he shouldnt be on the couch anyway) i just used to let him haha but my bf just keeps telling him to get down and bailey looks at me as if to say ''hey whos he to tell me to get down'' lol. Anyone got any advise to help the situation? xx

If you are serious with this bf, you might want to sit him down and have a talk with him about what is on your mind with Bailey.

BF moved into your home. He needs to respect your rules. He may have been brought up in a home where animals were not allowed on furniture & may be uncomfortable with it... or he may just be jealous of your attention to Bailey. Either way, it's your home & your dog. You need to decide & make it clear.

He moved in with you! That means that he accepts your rules which means, "Bailey get back on that couch"!
Tell your bf that when he Buys you a house, he then can start changing the rules!!
You obviously are not a child as you have your own place. What makes this bf think that he can treat you as such? Stand your ground, as a doormat just gets walked on! good luck:thumbup:

Thank you for your answers and your all right there are rules but its me who does not sticking to them haha. I always say i dont want bailey up on the couch and i try to stick to it but i always give in and when he jumps up just let him snuggle into me. My bf does not mind bailey when he is snuggling me but when he is on the couch and not next to me he tells him to get down... which i should do really but bailey is looking at me as if to say ''whos this'' lol. My bf is lovely with bailey and loves to play and walk him but i just think bailey is confused by who he is and why he is now in our home. Bailey has now become really clingy to me and if he isn't snuggling into me he is asleep on my feet or following me around the house and i feel like he is upset with me for bringing someone else into our home. Is there anything i can do to make him feel better... without gettin rid of my bf which someone had said HAHA altho maybe i maybe saying different after a little longer living with him hehe. I dont want you all thinking my bf has moved in and started telling me the rules of the house or that he is mean to bailey coz he really is sooo nice and is trying everything possible to make bailey feel at ease. Its just i want my bf become a pack leader too but i dont know how to do this without upsetting bailey if that makes sense... ok i'm gonna stop blabbing on now :D xxx
