Hey, no the one other mom is not on YT. She does not have a computer nor the internet at her house (personal preference). She no longer has custody of Ginger. She had a severe hypoglycemic attack and they took her to a pet ER in Louisville. She was in a coma when they got her there. They were going to put her down. I know that she looked very bad at the time(her body temp was 94 when it should be around 104) and there were some other complications. They called me so I could say "goodbye". I was in TN at the time and so I tried to ask 2303098 questions to figure out what all happened and what all the vet was doing to save her and I wasn't getting anywhere. They were not willing to keep her "going" to see if there was any brain/internal damage or not (she was having seizures as well) b/c the vet bills were estimating to be at 1300 for 24 hours and they could not do proper labs until Tuesday b/c of the holiday (which is STUPID). I begged them to not lay her to rest just yet but they refused. They said that they would be willing to relinqish all rights to her if we took over her care and payments which we have already done. We drove up from TN (4 1/2 drive) today suddenly and then I drove almost 2 1/2 hours to Louisville to see her (I was told that she was still unresponsive and in a coma - we wanted to at least give her a fighting chance until the morning, ya know?).... well let me tell you, she was not in a coma when I got there and she had actually eaten 3cc of some mush that they had (huge improvement) AND when they let me touch her (she is in an incubator) and I got to talk to her, she GOT UP AND WALKED AROUND, well more like stumbled but remember, she was UNRESPONSIVE for several hours. :D I guess my voice stimulated her enough to try to get up and stumble toward me. I couldn't help but cry b/c this was a HUGE step. I just kept telling her that Mommy was here and that we can make it through this together. I was there for 2 hours and had to come home (got home at almost 5am) b/c I have some things already planned tomorrow and will be headed back up tomorrow evening. So please pray for her. She has made huge improvements but she is not out of the woods yet. We aren't for sure of the possible damage b/c we don't know how long she was in her hypoglycemic attack before she was taken to the ER (they found her after church). I would love to have her moved closer to home because there are some factors to keep in mind and she is still in critical care. We are praying that she is fine and that we can at least move her tomorrow or the day after. Just pray. So... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful with your new babies. Guard them with your life and make sure they are eating properly and well taken care of! :( |
