Help! My Yorkie goes in circles nonstop!! Hello, My year and a half old Yorkie (I got him a couple of months ago) goes in circles nonstop! When he does this I try to get his attention or try to hold him so he stops. As soon as I put him back on the floor he starts all over again! Arghhhhh.... I don't know what to do anymore. Help! |
Maddie does this when she gets really excited. How long does it last? If it is only for a minute or two, he's fine. They are just playing! |

If its not a playful circling, it can be stress or brain problem of some sort. My old dog used to circle when she started to get dementia..im not saying thats what your pup has, but it can mean lots of different things. |
Have you had blood work done on your little one? This can be a sign of LS in some dogs or it could be many things. I think it is critical you get your dog to a vet for bloodwork. |

I've seen this several times on Dog Whisperer and he always interrupts the dog when he begins to circle and redirects his attention to something else with either food or a toy. He continues to do this until the dog no longer circles. It actually works. Good luck. |
if this is something that started out of the blue it could be an ear infection or inner ear problem. it could also be a few other medical problems it can also be behavioral. OCD or stress related. I'd take him to the vet to make sure nothing is medically wrong and then if he checks out ok i'd go to a behaviorist. Cesar has had a few episodes about spinning dogs. I recall one with a german shepard. the dog had so much pent up energy that he'd spin to get rid of it. cesar got him a backpack to walk with to help tire him out and it seemed to help. a vet visit is definitely in order before you try any behavior modifications tho. |
You should have a bile acid test run on your baby. This is a sign of a liver shunt. I'm not saying it does have a liver shunt, but this is one of the signs. is it picky about eating? How big is your baby? |
My dog run is circles around the couch. And I'm not sure why can somebody please tell me why? |
