second yorkie i have a 2 yr old 3 pound female yorkie, would like to get another but not sure which sex is best to bring in with my female-helllllllp-also any reputable breeders in wisconsin? thank you |
is she fixed? if so, I would go with whatever she is most comfortable with. If she's not fixed, I would definitely get another girl. 3 lbs in my opinion is too small to breed for sure. I've read in many places that you don't want a Yorkie to get pregnant unless she's at least 5 lbs. However, I am not experienced with any sort of breeding, and to each his own. I wish you the best of luck with finding a new family member! |
thanks thanks-i forgot to mention that my female is going to be fixed, i in no way want to breed her--i just wanted a pet-pal for the both of us |
Males & females tend to be a safer pair and generally will always get along. Just be sure to get your little ones fixed! |
We got Jada first and she is spayed. We were like you and wanted to get her a playmate and we decided on a male (bogie) and he is neutered. They get along great. They love each other and it is so cute to watch them play together. We are so glad we made the choice to get him. You might try if you have relatives and friends with dogs to let your baby play with them to see how she interacts with each gender before you decide.:animal36 |
