I am getting to my last string! I don't know what to do anymore..
Since peanuts whole vet trip the other day I have been trying to feed him more.. so i boiled some chicken and been giving him a little cut up chicken mixed with his dry food..then I put a little chicken broth over the food..well today he pooped and it was really soft. Could it be the chicken broth??

I think I am just being ocd about him, and I just let him eat how much he wants to eat..he is 4 lbs the vet said he looked healthy and I cant see his ribs so maybe I should just STOP! :confused:

It depends, when you boil the chicken is their skin on the chicken? This could cause a lot of fat in the broth that could upset tummy, so make sure you skim off fat. Most dog foods have an ingredient that helps firm up poop, dogs eating raw, eat bone fragments that firm up poop, if you are using a large amount of human food, poop may be softer, but it shouldn't be runny.

It sounds like he is healthy you should be able to feel the ribs but not see them. I dont have a tiny one like you have though and I bet if I did I would be just as careful about the eating and how much

Hmm well these are boneless..skinless chicken breast. His poop isnt runny..just a little soft not diahreahh either..just soft :confused:

Yeah..I can feel the ribs..but I cant see them, I know he is healthy..It just makes me wonder you know.. He doesn't even eat 1/4 of a cup a day..so that makes me worry but he is eating innova evo red meat small bites.. so I dunno.. I will just keep an eye on him.

I know some yorkies just not "eaters" so maybe I am being really OCD :rolleyes:

Now that I think of it he has ALWAYS ate a little bit.. so maybe that is just him :confused::confused:

Ok, then it wouldn't have enough fat on it to upset his tummy and soft poop can be messy, but it not bad, if these is a new food for him, sometimes poop get a little softer untill they get use to it, so don't add too much of this. Liquids don't make poop softer, liquids make pee larger. :D One forth of a cup a day, is all Joey eats, so I wouldn't worry about that. He would eat more, if I'd let him though!

Well I think his tummy has just been going thru too much..The vet sent us home with W/D perscription diet just like 2 cans and I was giving him some of that..but it has tons of fiber and he was pooping like crazy!!

Thats what started to get me to worry is Peanut doesn't even eat on forth of a cup a day! It takes him about 2 days to eat one forth of a cup :confused:

I think your just worried and scared. Its perfectly normal. I have a chi thatis 4 pounds and he doesn't eat alot either but he's 2 1/2 years old is still alive lol..hes' never had to go to the vet other than for rouitine. So just relax it sounds like your baby i just fine.

Joey's 5 1/2 pounds, and that's all he eats. Did the vet say he needed to gain weight?

No he vet said his weight is great and he looks healthy.. I think what started this was peanuts blood work.. his WBC was high and the vet said he had an infection and sent us home with meds..Then I started to think and stress out about every little thing!!

I know how you feel. I hand feed MIley (course she had hypogycemia talk about a scare) I also used to hand feed Biskit I no longer hand feed him but I do sit by him while he eats to make sure it's him eating and not me thinking hes eating and instead my oh so hoggish lab that will steal an extra bite if I turn my head lol..
As long as you know he's eating you really have nothng to worry about..it's when he stops eating that you should worry.
It's scary having small dogs..after biskit I swore id never get another small breed dog..woa and behold I got Miley lol..

Thanks!! I guess you are right..I mean I had no worries about his eating habbits until he Wed when he was acting sick, then the vet said his WBC was high and had an infection..then you just start to think of EVERYTHING! I had no worries about his eating habbits before, and he does eat, so I will just let him be and have him eat what he wants..and keep my eye on him!
