sooo nervous!! I have a 8 week old yorkie and she wants to crawl on the sofa that seems to high for her( near where my head is). she is so small. I am even getting nervous when she is sitting with me on the couch and it looks likes she wants to jump off. Help me feel not so nervous.....lol :p |
When Rowdy was a baby, he did that too - he would want to climb to the top of our head when we were sitting on the sofa or recliner chair. I don't think I can help you feel less nervous, because you must be sooo vigilant to not let him fall off - because he might. He doens't yet have a concept of heights and as such, he may just bail right off. I still worry about Rowdy, even though he is 7 months old! Watch him very carefully |
puppy Puppies can be so brave and give us a heart attack. I know it is not chic, but for the first few weeks I keep a quilt near the couch..when I sit down, I lay it in front of the couch..pillows work too..if puppy jumps or falls, they fall on a soft padding..good luck with your new baby. |
I used to put a ton of pillows on the floor all around my couch when wee were laying on it!!! And would always jump off no matter what I did!!! So then I didn't have to worry about it anymore!! |
There will be no comforting you right now. You have to stay alert and on guard to protect your wee one at all times. I keep mine on my lap with two hands near him at all times while on the couch. They do want to climb around. If a pup doesn't want to be semi-still and have snuggle time, I'd either sit on the floor with the pup or just put the pup on the floor to play. It just isn't worth the risk of even the slightest injury. You don't have to be a nervous wreck, just know that you are in control and have fun with her....they grow so darned fast. Also know that now is the time to get good pictures, it gets harder and harder by the week after this age! |
