Dog Clothes Pattern??? Is there such a thing out there? I feel a bit frustrated with what I see on stores and online, as they are not in my budget and because I know I could make them for my girl. I am a craft seamstress, but figure the yorkie clothes are small enough I could handle it! Does anyone know any good patterns to use? Is there a Simplicity pattern out there? (My closest fabric store is a major trip to get there, so please save me a trip if they don't have it). Thanks ahead of time! |
I got a pattern at Wal-Mart. I'll go find it and let you know what kind and the number. |
I know that McCalls, Butterick and Simplicity carry patterns for pet clothes. They are in the part of the catalog that has crafts. This weekend Joann's is having a pattern sale, don't remember which brand is on sale. Then next week, later in the week, they will have another brand on sale. You can look up the pattern company catalogs online and see what they have for pets. The patterns are rather expensive not to buy them on sale. Walmart does carry a couple of brands, I think Simplicity and McCalls, they sell for half price. Joann's will be on sale for $1.99, I think. You can also look Joann's up online and look at their fliers.:sewmachin |
Hobby Lobby and Joann's often have sales on patterns. Sometimes you can get them for $.99 ! You can search online for Simplicity and McCall's patterns ...or go to the store and browse the catalogs. Go to: www.simplicity.com put the word "dog" in the search field and you will see lots of patterns! I just looked. I am sure the same goes for McCalls. |
Oh...and look on Ebay! People sell those patterns all of the time! |
In fact, there is a thread in the For Sale forum here, selling a lot of different doggy patterns. |
I altered a couple of NB baby shirts to fit Rily. I cut most of the back out and curved it up on the belly. Looks pretty good. |
Try searching the internet for patterns. I have found a lot and you can change and ad things easily. I make and sell dog clothes on ebay. You can watch and find lots of clothes that are under $5 or $6. I actually have a few on there right now that I bought for my Fiona that didn't fit (she weighs 1lb 9oz) and I am selling them for $5 free shipping. There are lots of others but if you want to make them like I did, Jo Ann fabrics has simplictiy patterns for 1.99 now and on friday and sat. the macalls are 1.99. Wal-mart sells them cheap also and has a good seletion. Good luck! I love to make them, it is a lot of fun! Ashlee and Fiona |
i get mine of ebay and walmart |
wow! Lots of good places to start...thank you! I noticed on ebay there was one seller that recycles baby clothes for her dog dresses, which I might try after I have a few pieces made under my belt. I am sure my daughter still has some of my granddaughters old baby dresses I could use. I like the idea of adding a D-ring to clothing, too. Thanks again! |

If you have a Hancock Fabrics they put their patterns on sale for 1.00. I got patterns for cloths and beds there. The patterns usually sell for 15.95 so it was a great bargin. |
I was looking for something else and ran across the patterns for sale thread. Thought I would pass it along if you are still looking for them: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gar...thes-more.html |
