Does your yorkie howl? I have never heard Sam howl and he is almost 3. So tonight me and him were layin on the couch, he was layin on my chest... and I started howling. He looked at me like I had lost my mind. Martin (the poodle) was laying next to me and starting howling. Sam looked at him like he had lost his mind. Finally Sam started barking in tune with our howling but not howling. Does your yorkie howl? And yes, I live an exciting life. I lay on the couch on Monday night and try to teach my dog to howl:rolleyes: |
i've never heard morgan howl but that would be cool to hear. morgan rarely barks so a howl would be something big PS your monday night seems just as exciting as mine. i was just sitting here playing with the hair on morgan's head. she has about 20 little ponytails right now. LOL |

Twalla - you have me totally cracking up reading your thread!!!!!!! Sissy has this sound she makes - usually when we are coming home and she is super happy. It is kind-of a howling sound, but also kind-of like she is talking........ My life sounds as exciting as yours!!!!! |
My Yorkie howls in the middle of the night when I am in a deep sleep. It scares the tar out of me too. I had no idea what it was or anything when he did it at first. I call it, "him having puppy dreams". |
Uh oh, you better watch it. :p My friend taught Coral to howl. Luckily, she's only done it once or twice. |

Tila howls, or at least she tries. It's funny, because I taught Odie to howl and now he just doesn't quit. lol. If my mom's chi Mika and Tila are barking at the cat or something it'll set Odie off and he'll start howling and he's got a high pitched howl and then when he starts it gets Mika going, but she's got this cute little howl and once she starts Tila joins in, and her howl is beyond adorable, it's like Aroooow-oo-oo-oo, she doesn't hold a note she breaks off bark, bark, aroow-oo-oo-o. LOL! Sometimes howling isn't all that great because once all three get going it's like a wee little tiny pack of wolves. |
no howlers here! But when my brother used to play the clairanet ( may of spelt it wrong) my moms boxer would howl like crazy lol:p |
Ha yes Copper hows, it is so funny when he does... When he is arround girl dogs (not in season) and we are done with our play date and head home, he will howl the whole way home. I will try and attatch the video we took, your can't really see him, but you can hear him:) |
Bailey has only howled once and I wasn't there to hear it :( He did it at my parents house while they were watching the Discovery channel. I guess there were wolves howling and he was sleeping. He popped his head up out of a dead sleep and just started howling with them. I so wish I could've been there to see it!!!!! He's such a little character! I just love him more and more every day. Words can't even express how much I love my baby!!!! :) :) |

Both my Boyz are howlers. Doogan is the King of Howling, but only for his Papa. As soon as his Papa comes through the door after work the howling begins and will go on sometimes for 5 minutes. Sedrick howls(but it sounds more like he is gargling a mouth full of marbles)but he only does it the "Enzyte" commercial (the male enhancement drug):D That commercial comes on and no matter where he is in the house, he hears that whistling and he comes running and howling!! |
LOL, I would love for Jackson to howl! My uncle used to have a Siberian Husky that howled when you would say her name high-pitched, haha. It was hilarious. |
Joey doesn't ever howl or do anything to resemble howling, he just barks. When he barks too much, he gets the zapper collar. I know, I know, many of you are probably thinking what a terrible yorkie mamma I am, but I have gotten zapped by it, my husband played with it (put it on his neck and barked like 10 times in a row...crazy kid), and it's really not that bad. It definitely does the trick. Anyways...I digress...When my husband or I get home, Tank does this longer bark. It kinda sounds like a hound dog bark. I think it's adorable (like twice. any more than that is annoying). I've never heard Tank all out howl though. My black lab/min pin mix that I had for almost 16 years would howl when she heard sirens. |
I have a new foster that howls. We were laying in bed and he started howling. Scared the crap out of me! Then my husband starts saying maybe he is part red fox, we have a fox that lives in the lot across from our house. I start to panic trying to remember where Sterling came from. Then start worrying about him hurting one of my furbabies. Well, Sterling came from a breeder. It was just his way of letting us know he is here. He is the typical unsocialized yorkie, very scared and shy, so I think it was his way of communicating with the others here. |
I am going to have to watch that video when I get home! Good to see that I dont have the only non howling Yorkie and there are others that do howl!! Its so funny to watch him bark when we are howling that I may have to make do with that :p |
Yes Bella howls...she barks and always end it with a howl...too cute. |
