Glad to see you are keeping an open mind about this issue, your dog is probably perfectly fine, and it's not the way the dogs are treated in the store that bothers some of us, it how the breeding pair are kept. These dogs are kept in substandard conditions, and bred to death. Because it's a business, profit is the number one priority. Puppies are often taken away from mothers too early, and many die on the journey to the pet store, but this doesn't matter because they have found that it's easier to sell a younger puppy and that all and they want, a quick turn over, so if one out of 10 dies, big deal. I hope you have no problem with you puppy, and puppy mill dogs are at no more health risks than backyard breeders dogs, who haven't educated themselves on proper breeding and genetic problems. To find a puppy with lower health risks you have to find a quality breeder, but because they are not in the business of selling dogs, they will be very picky about choosing a home for their dogs, wouldn't you be too?

Is the income from YT not enough to just simply drop the Google ads???? I believe that the admin needs to take a serious look at these ads. I have seen others that I also questioned.
This is for income to pay for the YT server and all, but surely there is a better way?
Is the income from YT public information? What I am asking is if this is a for profit message board.

I don't think that is accurate. I just put my own website in and it is nothing like the data that came up.

I actually don't think that YT is hugely profitable; the owner started this as a service. Remember it's free to anyone, and donating members are only required to pay a one time fee of $25.00, and that's for life. If it weren't for the google ads, I don't think we would be allowed to have many of the amenities found on YT, such as profile pages, and albums, and many people really love and use these features. I imagine this requires a lot of bandwidth, and to get this at reasonable price, you have to work with places like google. Also google helps YT become better known. Yorkietalk keeps all of it's pages, unlike many forums, and you can look up threads that were here from the beginning, most forums have to delete old threads because of bandwidth cost. They do have a calendar sale once a year, and I think that's their biggest money maker, and I hope everyone supports this. I don't know of any other sites that offer so much for so little.

I was talking about the ad on the Home page. I did email Admin about this and they did explain to me that google handles the ads (which I had no clue obviously) but they would look into it. It just upset me when I saw that because it contradicts what this site is about. I didn't know that Puppy Petite was a horrible place until after I already got my puppy almost 5 yrs ago there. She just died last month and although she was the cutest thing ever, she was very sick. Then I started hearing all these horror stories and now I want to make sure that no one goes there for their puppies. Whether you luck out and get a healthy one there or not, they are still from puppy mills and we shouldn't be supporting them. People say that they don't want to go to breeders because they are too expensive but believe me on this...it's a lot more expensive getting a sick dog. I spent $1100 for Hailey (my yorkie from there) but after all the emergency room, vet, medication and special food I spent about $10,000 total. So now I would give my savings just to get a healthy puppy. Watching your baby suffer is so heartbreaking and I don't even like to think about what they do to them in those places. Please spread the word and lets do what we can to stop them.:)

I have two servers (which my son runs and pays for) with pretty much unlimited storage so I do know the cost of running them.
As for the search engines, you do not need to run google ads to move up in the rankings. That is not the criteria.
I am merely asking and honestly I would be happy to donate more if that was needed to avoid having ugly sites profiting off of Yorkie Talk which is basically what is happening.

When you sign up to run ads on Google, you can specify topics....if you specify dogs, unfortunately you are going to be advertising for pet stores and mills and whoever else is profiting off the backs of defenseless animals.

Yorkie Haven signed up for adsense and quickly dropped it when we saw the ads that popped up.
We did not need money that badly.
Perhaps the admin has not really looked at these things. I am glad that someone contacted him.

I'm not real sure how they would figure net worth. As far as ad revenue goes, it's easy to see that no one is getting rich with YorkieTalk if the numbers are any where close to accurate.

What numbers are you referring to? Do you know how many people visit YT daily and perhaps click on the links?
I did not think anyone had access to that except the people running their own websites.
There is plenty of money to be made if you have the traffic!

It shows the net worth, ranking and daily ad revenue. I guess every site is tracked in some way but I have no knowledge if these rankings are accurate.
