I don't think you're crazy at all. Sasha is like my child. I spoil her to death, give her a good food, tons of toys and tons of loving. I'm even starting to get little outfits for her, especially for the holidays. When I have to leave and go to work, I feel horrible because I hate leaving her at home. Even if my parents are home with her, I still feel bad because I know she always wants me home. You're not crazy at all. You just love your babies dearly like everyone else here on YT. |
I must be crazy too. I dont have any kids either and have never really wanted any, though I love my nephew and nieces, I've always prefered animals. My sister who has 4 kids from 7-18 used to think I was crazy for 'wasting' so much money on my kids, but now she has 2 cocker spaniels and they're her babies. She would tease Alfie when we took him down but now she talks to him like hes one of the kids, I find it so funny. Mine dont have a wardrobe-yet- but I keep looking. Years ago people would insist on making stupid comments about my dogs and their size, now I cant walk down the street without kids wanting to pet them, they even think its cute when they wear bows. |
2 Attachment(s) You are not crazy at all. I am thinking that you need to get them a stroller so you can take them to the softball games. Daisy and Teddy LOOOVE their stroller and they love to lay in it and nap together. I had to get a super large one for them to fit together and have enough room to both lie down (they are 14 lbs each). Your friends haven't seen anything yet... wait till you get them a stoller. haha I did get some ribbing from friends and even hubby at first but now hubby will push them around in the stroller at doggie events and he loves the ooohs and awwws he gets from the ladies. :) |
Well I guess I'm CRAZY too. I won't leave my girls for long periods and all 4 of them are so spoiled. My family thinks I'm crazy because my Heidi who is 17 1/2 yrs old has been on sub-q fluids every day for 3 years and also multiple meds. They think that I should have her euthanized. She is not in any pain (she has chronic kidney failure and congestive heart failure) and she loves to just lie around or be held and that's just what I'm going to do as long as she is not suffering. My kids are all grown and gone and these are my babies now. |
Some of our friends completely understand- they tend to think that it is weird when our kids arent with us. Then we have friends who cant stand the way that we treat our dogs, but thats why we dont see them that often now. I am meeting new people all the time and it is getting easier to figure out who the friends are that will last- they have to understand our love for our poochies or its not there. I have met more and more yorkie lovers and have realized I am not alone in my insanity! LoL! |

No you are not crazy you are passionate about your animals and everyone elses, you are a better person for it. I would spend time with chester before I would some of my friends, he dont judge me |
1 Attachment(s) Have you guys seen these ridiculously expensive english baby strollers? They are by silver cross and are about $2000. Could you imagine if we got those for our furbabies? Maybe then they can call us crazy! I still want one though :p I want the accessories that go with skinbabies, but not the baby itself, lol. |
HAHA that is awesome! Funny, because I looked at a stroller last week and decided it was just too small. I will keep looking. Where did you get yours, I love it! Are there any kind of hooks to strap them in with their harness on. lol My Baxter would jump right out! Quote:

You are perfectly normal. I also do the things you do for your dogs. We give our yorkie lots of care and love. He is the light of my life. We dont like to leave him alone in the house and we take him every place we go. |
wow! that's an expensive purchase. I don't think I will be spending that on a stroller. Gosh, I have been looking at horses that cost that! LOL :p Quote:

I definitely have days I would not want to be around my friends! I dont care how much work my babies take, they deserve it!!! Quote:

Nope not crazy at all!!!! I also am fed up with all the jokes about me - friends call me the female dog whisperer. They think I exaggerate when it comes to my furbabies especially when I've placed pups. They don't understand when I don't approve of a specific home. I keep hearing "It's just a dog!" I HATE when they say that:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown What's sad is that I actually don't go out with them much anymore because I don't want to hear it:( My husband and kids understand my passion and love for animals but unfortunately none of my friends do |

They are going to think I am REALLY crazy when I add more to my family! HAHAHAHAHA :p |
Dana, you and Van have the Biggest hearts and NO You are not crazy, they are. |
It's nice to know we're not alone. Like many of you I love animals period. One of my favorite places is the zoo. I know people who think they are only for children. I think that's sad. |
I bought a stroller at petsmart for mine and I don't care if people do think I'm crazy. If I go to get it out of the car my husband says "your not taking that thing are you" but that doesn't stop me either. I like the one I got because it has a sip in mesh front so they can't get out. I could get all 3 of mine in it. |
you're not crazy! I petsit too so I understand how you feel abotu animals. :) I tend to be a blunt person. I get called bitch a lot, but I tell it like it is. I told my friends if they have a problem with the way I treat my animals then they can go elsewhere. I don't tell them how to live their life and raise their kids. They need to learn to do the same. |
it is those who do not understand who miss out on the best therapy in the world, PUPPY KISSES :) |
I too was called crazy when I first got Molly. Mainly because she's small (4 lbs) and I occasionally dress her up. And, in the cold weather, I make sure she has sweaters along with a new jacket I just ordered for her for the winter to keep her warm. Oh, I was also crazy when I got her Kwigy Bo Alexa carrier and was totally out of my mind when I ordered her PetZip Monogram stroller for her. To me it makes sense to use when doing a lot of walking. My family have always been animal lovers, but my friends and some of my family think that I have gone overboard with Molly. Now, that I'm older, I don't let a lot of comments like that bother me like they would have when I was younger. Molly is just as special and important to me as my children are. In fact, she almost acts like a spoiled child at times. hehe :yorkiesar :woof: |

AW....thanks L!! You are too sweet! |
Funny....this week no one really said anything to me. I have rescued 3 animals in the last 2 weeks, so they actually sent me compliments. My friends know how I am always taking dogs in and one of them sent me a package of goodies this week with a sweet note. She said, "Here is some things you will need for the dogs you bring in. It is good for the kids, and we will fill another box for you & when it is full I will ship it out. It is great for the kids to know they are helping my friend love and care for unwanted animals." I was totally floored! That one nice compliment made all the other bad ones not mean anything. |

I say, "the more furbabies the better." :D |
I too am sick of hearing how crazy I am. This weekend I picked up my third Yorkie baby from his foster mom's house upstate and the next day drove with my three dogs, my sister and her Cavalier puppy, three kids and a kitten to deliver the rescue kitten to his new home in Brooklyn. At this point in my life, my children are growing and having social lives of their own and I am single and love spending my free time (what little there is) with my Yorkies. If I could afford to, I would just work with animals, I think I like them better than people (generally). Dog people get it, and the others' opinions I don't care about. |
