Whines for Attention I have a 7 mos old Yorkie that loves to play. He would rather play then eat. He is also very communicative and constantly lets us know he wants to play. He prefers playing with us not by himself or with the cat. We do play with him quite a bit but there are plenty of times I need to work (I homeschool my children) and there are times I just want to sit with my husband and watch tv. He looks so pitiful when we don't play with him plus there is the whining and barking. And, now he has started jumping over us to the back of the couch to try to get our attention from a different angle I guess. I don't want to do him a dis-service but I can't play with him as much as he wants. |
When my 5 month old Bailey is alone with me he constantly demands my attention..but when he is at my BF's playing with his 2 dogs he can't be bothered with me at all! :) maybe get a playmate for him? |
I just got Lola about three weeks ago. To be honest I think is was a major issue as to why she has been rehomed so many times already. She is 10 months and LOVES attention. She would love to play constantly and whines and barks for attention too. Like yours, shes just very vocal. I do play often with her but sometimes I just have to ignore it and after a few mins she goes and lays down. It took a few times of doing this for her to catch on. I bring her to work with me when I am in the office and she always wants to play with her toys with me but of course I have work to do! |
Rockie is a whiner tooooo:D he whines to get out of his xpep, he whines for attention:p he's my spoiled brat. Of course, now that l ignore him and don't immeditely reward his whining by jumping to his attention everytime he does it, he stops it and just goes to my daughters room or plays with his toys. A playmate would solve it. It's my fault l really spoil him. |
